Sending son to parents?

My son is nearly 8, he has adhd and asd traits.

His behaviour has been awful today. I've not slept well due to a friend of mine taking his own life prior to Christmas. So I am tired. And when I am tired I am grumpy!

Anyway on a whim I text my dad to ask if he'd have ds tonight to which he said yes.

But now I've had time to think, he gets away with murder at my parents. He'll see it as a treat to go there. When in all honesty he should be in his room until bedtime!!

Am I being unreasonable? What would you do?

I would forget any idea of punishment, send your son to his grandparents and have a break. You sound like you desperately need one (and you might find a break from each other improves your son’s more challenging behaviour!)

I’m sorry for your loss Flowers

Send him and try and get some rest.

Send him
I suspect in part some of his behaviour is triggered by sensing something is wrong with you.
You both need a break
Sorry about your friend
