Age 9 and 6.

I've given them breakfast, made sure they got dressed, fed the pets, put a wash on and had a shower. Then ran out if energy completely (heavy cold on top of a chronic illness) and gave gone back to bed with the door open

One is on the xbox, the other on the pc

This week we've been out on walks, to the trampoline park, out for lunch, played board games, done crafts, baked cupcakes, been swimming. But I just feel too crappy to do anything with them.

DH is out until 2pm when he will come home and take them out on their bikes.

Aibu to do very low level parenting until then?

They've been active and they will be active again in a few hours. I don't see the problem.

teenagetantrums · 03/01/2020 11:07

Yes why not. They are on holiday as well let them relax

RickOShay · 03/01/2020 11:08

Yes of course
Hope you feel better!

Nothing wrong with this at all.

You're poorly and they need some downtime too, especially after all the activities (and out on their bikes this afternoon).

Rest up and let them enjoy it for a few hours.

Bluewavescrashing · 03/01/2020 11:10

They are loving it and don't seem to need any interaction so I'm staying put! I will obv make them lunch at some point.

I feel a bit less guilty now. To be fair my parents didn't really play with me much at this age. I read, watched TV, played Duke Nukem and Lemmings 😁

I think a bit of downtime is no harm at all. That's why I live Despicable Me. Hour and a half to myself Grin

Popfan · 03/01/2020 11:36

That's totally fine. In fact it's totally fine sometimes even if you are well!

squeekums · 03/01/2020 11:37

Of course it's ok
Hell, dd is 9 and has the wiiu in her room
