Would IBU to book a nice hotel just for me for 1 night in my county? I have spare money and feel like I want a night of luxury where I don't have to make the bed/tidy up too much. Feel like I'm on an a trip. I'm single and haven't been to a hotel in 3 years. Or is that just weird?

If you can afford it then why wouldn't you? It sounds lovely.

FrankRattlesnake · 02/01/2020 21:18

Do it! Why not??

LionelRitchieStoleMyNotebook · 02/01/2020 21:19

It's up to you but why not a
go somewhere you'd like to go and book a hotel? Maybe I'm just jaded from work travel but what I'd like most is a night at home on my own and an epic lay in with no check out time to think about

Oysterbabe · 02/01/2020 21:20

I really wish I'd done more stuff like this before kids.

Crunched · 02/01/2020 21:21

My previous next door neighbour used to do this once a month. She didn’t fancy leaving home for long but enjoyed the change. I always saw a difference in her when she got back.

I'm a single parent and DS will be at his Dads. So I do get time to myself at home but in a bit fed up of these same walls. I don't often go out. Just didn't know if it was odd to go to a hotel in my county. The one I really want to go to is fully booked up to 6 months

Choose the best hotel you can afford, bearing in mind that many will have offers in January as it's not the most popular month for tourists/visitors,, and book it for 2 nights so that you get a real break away and the opportunity to explore a different part of your county.

My idea of heaven at the moment would be a quaint village pub known for the quality of its food and accomodation, but I wouldn't say no to a couple of nights pampering in a 4 or 5* star hotel with superlative service.

Tink88 · 02/01/2020 21:29

Yabu- book 2 nights and a massage.

Squidgyflump · 02/01/2020 21:30

Do it. Book it around your birthday if you can and enjoy the luxury

Spitsandspots · 02/01/2020 21:47

But would you feel bored on your own? Would you happily eat in the restaurant alone or have to order overpriced room service?

I think it’s a nice idea in theory but I know I would end up thinking that I could watch tv in my own bed for free.

If you feel you would really enjoy it-do it.

SAMlady · 02/01/2020 21:59

Definitely - why not! Mini break with yourself!

If you like Miranda she did this, was soooo funny

@spitsandspots during last year I plucked up the courage to go places on my own. I thought I'm single and can't keep staying in because I don't have a OH to do stuff with. I wouldn't mind going alone

😂 @samlady I'll have to watch it
