To ask for your tips on the perfect laundry load

Finally after years of renting places with crap old washing Machines or other things being the priority I've been able to buy a really nice washing machine brand new and a brand new dryer.

We have a 8 week old baby, 18 month old and 7 year old plus DH and I. I used to just chuck the washing on any old way but would love to get really clean and soft feeling washing like my mum used to. Does anyone have any tips for creating the perfect laundry load? Products or process they swear by

Before anyone says just ask your mum unfortunately not in a position to do so due to recent events Sad

Make sure you wash items of similar weight together. For example, washing a mix of light clothing along with heavy towels makes the load awkward to dry in the drier. Part of the load would dry much faster than the towels, so by the time the towels are dry, the other items are over-dried and can get stuff and lose their softness.

One little trick I've done for years is to add a clean, dry towel to every load in the drier. It really does help to dry the load quicker.

Use powder, not liquid. White vinegar is better than softener. (It doesn’t smell) Air dry whenever possible.
