To want to sit and cry?

Another hospital visit for ds last night, he took a seizure due to a very high temp, I'm absolutely loaded with tonsillitis and my poor dh is utterly exhausted and hardly slept a wink... My house is a bombsite, we need milk and all I want to do is curl up in to a wee ball and cry

Sending hugs. Fuck the house, that can wait. Grab some milk on your way out the hospital if there’s a shop in there.

Your DH is a grown up and can manage him self so don’t worry about him.

How old is your son? Do they know what caused the seizure? It must be terrifying!

Batshittery · 29/12/2019 11:08

YANBU. Have a little cry then go for a walk for the milk. Sorry things are so tough for you, but it will get better. Tonsillitis really is the pits Thanks

Gossipjunkie22 · 29/12/2019 11:09

Aww hugs are well needed, thanks!

Both dh and ds are sleeping just now so I might power on and tidy up a little.

He's 19 months old, drs said he's got an ear, nose and throat infection which has caused the sky high temperature

Do it.

Sometimes having a bloody good cry really helps!

It doesn’t matter that the house is a mess - one day it will be tidy but today is not the day to be worrying about it.

Do you have anyone local that could get supplies for you?

Gossipjunkie22 · 29/12/2019 11:10

I've managed to go get milk, I realise the house can wait.. If I wasn't so damn ill myself the Xmas wine and choccies would be opened

Do not try to power through, tonsillitis needs rest and recuperation not a tidy house and exhaustion! 💕

Batshittery · 29/12/2019 11:10

Don't bother to tidy up. That can wait

puds11 · 29/12/2019 11:12

Oh poor sausage Sad It’s so hard when they are little and poorly as you can’t explain it to them. If I were you I’d do a 15 min blast of the worst bits then have a cuppa and a rest.

puds11 · 29/12/2019 11:12

Just saw update. Well done! Ignore it and rest! CakeFlowers

fedup21 · 29/12/2019 11:14

This. What is depressing you the most about the house-focus on that.

I’d wash up/load the dishwasher, clear the kitchen sides and put a load of washing on. Then lay down on the sofa!

rosieposies · 29/12/2019 11:14

Oh poor DS 😓 and Tonsillitis is THE WORST. Do you have a family member that can come and help with the mess? I know how it feels when you're surrounded by it, it makes you feel so much worse!

Gossipjunkie22 · 29/12/2019 11:16

I've took myself through to bed, the living room door got shut and the mess hidden away.

I need sleep I'm no good to anyone if I'm exhausted

Sending huge hugs OP!! ThanksThanks

The house can wait - just rest. Most of my friends and family were very ill at some point over Christmas and I had to miss a big Boxing Day do because of a chest infection.

There's so many viruses around right now - wishing you all a speedy recovery.

newlifenewme2020 · 29/12/2019 11:50

Tonsillitis is awful. We had some literature from DS school saying that the local authority guidelines are that kids should go in with Tonsillitis. The idiot who wrote this has obviously never had it. My dS has ended up hospitalised both times he has had it

newlifenewme2020 · 29/12/2019 11:52

Also op I ended up with glandular fever after tonsillitis which then led to fibromyalgia because I tried to keep going as normal. Pleas rest as much as you can your health is more important. Bugger the house

soloula · 29/12/2019 11:56

Aw OP what a nightmare. Hope DS is ok.

When I get overwhelmed by mess I grab a few bags for life and chuck everything in there to be dealt with at a later date. When it's in my eyeline it stresses me out and I struggle to ignore it. If theres loads of mess, a bag for each room where the mess belongs.

Gossipjunkie22 · 29/12/2019 12:01

I've tried to sleep but then ds stirred and was having a bad dream, I'm so scared to shut my eyes 😢 thanks for all the messages, I'll deal with it later and slowly start with dishes, coffee, tidy toys away, more coffee then in between get ds bathed and settled again and possibly more coffee... #zombiemama
