to request a refund from Ebay

I ordered an item from Ebay and needed it ASAP so paid for 24 hour courier. The seller has updated the order to show that the item has been posted 2nd class via Royal Mail and is estimated to arrive 4 days after I ordered the item.

AIBU to expect a refund of the postage from them? I have contacted them and they seem to think that I am not entitled to a refund.

Definitely

Is the seller a business or private seller?

JustACog · 29/12/2019 07:56

Sorry, definitely do it!

It's a business.

If it’s a business then definitely! I would wait to see when it arrives. Sometimes I’ve automatically printed the postage label then realised my mistake and bought the correct postage, but eBay emails the buyer with the original bought postage details.

I'm an ebay business seller. It is of course reasonable to request a refund for the postage. You are fully within your rights to return the item - seller has to pay for return and fully refund the original price including the extra you paid for 24 express delivery.

Wow, this is the first time I've seen everyone agree on here!

Yes definetly ask for a refund for the postage, you paid for something you didn't get.
