Monday if he's still unwell? He's 14 months and has had a fever for 5 days. No other symptoms apart from irritability and refusing to eat (will still breastfeed). He seems ok though and has periods of bring happy and playing. He's recently recovered from bronchiolitis (just a slight lingering cough). Wwyd?

Yes I'd take him. He's still really little.

His temp has also been 39.9 on 2 occasions but it comes down with nurofen and Calpol combined

Take him. Try and catch some wee to take with you (nappy off. Clean bowl and chase the child)

TORDEVAN · 28/12/2019 21:13

of course you are not being unreasonable, NHS says after 5 days of fever take them to urgent GP appointment, and I've been told to take my DD in if she has a fever but no real evidence of the cause.

keysonthehighshelf · 28/12/2019 22:43

I want to take him tomorrow but it's Sunday. The only thing stopping me is the fact he's not too miserable.

Could you call 111 and they can advise if an out of hours doctors would be appropriate in the circumstances

Emmelina · 29/12/2019 01:44

That’s what doctors are for hun. You’ve done the right thing not rushing him in at first sign, but it’s lingering and reasonably it’s time to get him checked over. I agree with PP about getting a wee sample on the morning of the appointment, it’ll save time. Good luck!
