To have been a total lazy cow

Since Boxing Day we have done nothing. Well we have been for some long dog walks and I visited the sales/Asda yesterday but other than that we have been at home with dc doing nothing but lounging about in pjs and eating all the leftover food. Dc seem fine with it playing on new games, toys etc. But I'm starting to feel a bit guilty and will be glad to get some routine back really.

Anyone else been a lazy git since Christmas?

I have. Forced to some degree by being poorly but now feeling slightly better and still can't be bothered to get up. It's fine. Good time to recharge isn't it?

littlepaddypaws · 28/12/2019 15:14

i'm going to be a lazy cow until new year as next year is going to be VERY busy domestically due to down sizing and continuing to clear 20 odd years of clutter

Rosebel · 28/12/2019 15:17

I am being lazy too but don't care. New baby next year so I'm relaxing while I can.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 28/12/2019 15:18

Yep, I've done a little bit of housework and sorted out bedrooms but done nothing work-related or effort-related. It's been bliss.

We've got friends coming over today and I can't even be bothered to get showered and changed from my pyjamas yet.

bettybattenburg · 28/12/2019 15:18

Yep, same here. I popped into the supermarket for a pizza earlier as I was out meeting somebody for coffee but even that was laziness so I don't have to cook tonight as I'm the only one for dinner tonight.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 28/12/2019 15:20

I’m fully embracing the lazy cow-ness! I’ve watched 13 movies in 3 days and used Deliveroo twice...I plan to stay in my pit for at least another 24h!

AnneLovesGilbert · 28/12/2019 15:20

Oh god, enjoy it. I’m beyond exhausted. Everything we’ve done and everyone we’ve seen has been great but what I’d give for a day or 5 in my pjs eating plain lettuce and drinking water, watching tv and taking naps.

WorraLiberty · 28/12/2019 15:23

We've been pretty lazy but it's never entered my head to feel 'guilty'.

Guilty towards who and why?

Disillusioneddaisy · 28/12/2019 15:24

@WorraLiberty to the dc really. Feel like we should be doing stuff while they're off school other than lazing about looking at screens. They seem quite happy with it though 🙈

Today was the first day I got dressed since Christmas day. Basically woke up each day in between, watched TV in my pyjamas, had a bath or shower mid afternoon and put clean pyjamas on! I've been doing housework though and playing loads with my DS. DH went to the football on boxing day and has nipped out to the shop a few times taking DS with him for fresh air. I needed this, I've been run off my feet for 3 weeks so enjoying the time off work! Since I'm dressed today, I think we'll all have a walk!

Dipsydoodle · 28/12/2019 15:27

Us but tbh it's not that different from how we spend our leisure time usually anyway Grin And no guilt here!

HemlockStarglimmer · 28/12/2019 15:32

I'd do that in a heartbeat if I didn't have to work 😁

Don't feel guilty, make the most of it!

ChocChipWookie · 28/12/2019 15:35

Yup. Day three of monster munch for breakfast and copious amounts of cheesecake. In my defence it's cheesecake factory cake and would be borderline criminal to throw it.

Icanflyhigh · 28/12/2019 15:51

I'm being lazy! I dont care! We are never lazy!
DC are happy playing with their new stuff, house is relatively tidy, so I'm doing a mixture of MN, FB and toyblast while eating anything in sight!

ElbasAbsentPenis · 28/12/2019 15:59

What else is this time of year for?

Tumbleweed101 · 28/12/2019 16:05

Lazy here too and very nice knowing my workplace is closed so I’m not on call if someone phones in sick like I usually am on days off. Lovely not to have school runs and routines. Defo making the most of being lazy here.

needanewnamechange · 28/12/2019 16:18

God yeah thinking the same , I hardly planned anything between Christmas and new year . Boxing Day nothing expect a bit of cleaning . Friday I was in work for a few hours and today nipped out to supermarket with dd . I was feeling guilty that I've not took ds out since Christmas Day he's had a cold and quite happy to be at home , but I've decided that tomorrow we are going for a walk out somewhere this has been met with reluctance Hmm.

Vilanelle · 28/12/2019 16:24

I'm in that awkward stage that I get in every Christmas. Bored shitless but no energy to do anything. All I've done today is watch tv and have a bath!

No kids but pregnant so I guess I'm making the most of what will be my last lazy christmas for a while!

BrieAndChilli · 28/12/2019 16:27

It’s the only ‘holiday’ that you can laze about and not feel guilty!! Any other bank holiday or time off work you feel you should be filling it with activities and being outside, but twixtmas (between Xmas and new year) is meant for lounging around, eating chocolate and watching films and playing board games!!!

orangejuicer · 28/12/2019 16:28

Me too. Let your DCs relax, you don't need to do anything special.

Rachelfromfriends1 · 28/12/2019 16:30

I haven’t been that lazy but I do miss my normal routine now!

WatchingTheMoon · 28/12/2019 16:30

If you're happy, why feel guilty?

It's such a waste of energy.

Disillusioneddaisy · 28/12/2019 16:48

I think @Vilanelle has got it right. You're bored and feel like you should be doing something but no energy! I guess it's our reward after weeks of frantic Christmas planning. Had a long dog walk this morning so don't feel too bad. Tomorrow we will be shopping, visiting and getting ready for work on Monday so will enjoy my last lazy day x

Littlebearstrousers · 28/12/2019 16:57

I have been sooo lazy but I dont feel guilty tbh! It's just me and DD(5) and she has had a ball playing with all her new stuff. It's the best time of year to be cooped up IMO as they don't get as bored as any other time of year as all of their toys are new and exciting.

We could be out doing things but the last term before Xmas took it out of both of us so we need the rest. Enjoy it!
