To report Hermes driver

We have had a new delivery man for a few weeks he is so fast that he is walking of 2.5 seconds after knocking ! Today he knocked and I thought it was DH coming back from the noises I answered straight away he gave me the parcel & walked of!

Then DH finds another parcel behind the bin for another house ( say we are number 32 they are 72) checked the camera he clearly did not see and he has chucked the parcel behind the bin knocked on the door given me mine and then signed for mine himself!!

I understand they have LOTS of parcels to get delivered in one day but this guy is rushing so much that he is chucking other peoples parcels at the wrong house and signing for them himself!

Should I email to report him ?

Wouldn’t report him, probably really harassed and overworked. Must be a nightmare job at this time of the year. Our Hermes driver is great but the amount of parcels they have to deliver on their shift is ridiculous.

DammitCarlton · 30/12/2019 07:48

That's more than a bit rubbish. Our Hermes driver round here is brilliant, arrives at 8.30am on the dot every time, always leaves a card if I'm not in to say where hes left the parcel.

Yodel on the other hand Angry

I absolutely agree with your point of view. Well said.

JustDanceAddict · 30/12/2019 09:21

I try not to buy if it’s Hermes as they’ve terrible.
Mind you I’ve had other drivers ring my bell, I’m literally 5 secs from opening door and they ring again like the world is ending! I said that he had to give me time to walk from one end of hall to the front door!

👌👍

Yes I had a parcel for a week that didn’t get collected. I left a rude note on it to say I was going to complain and the driver said he wouldn’t deliver to me again. They have the worst website where you can’t contact anyone and as another driver has told me Hermes have no interest in what we the receivers of the parcels have to say they will only take notice of their actual customers. That being said I contacted their CIO and put in a complaint which i suggest everyone does and they will look into it. I personally have threatened to sue them over this behaviour as the driver was just returning my parcels back to the company saying I don’t live at that address. So furious as they were Christmas presents. Here is his email address.

Good luck don’t let this disgusting company get away with treating peoples parcels so badly. I’m aware the drivers also get treated badly but that isn’t our fault! Good luck

No. They are overworked and underpaid. They have to cut corners to get close to minimum wage once hidden costs of pension contributions, NI, tax, holiday pay and sick pay are set aside let alone petrol and car costs. Time wasters who don't take accountability for a guaranteed delivery point for their parcels, expecting delivery drivers to run round finding willing neighbours to accept delivery of their parcel, paid for on a budget service, don't help matters for everyone else. It's a frustrating service but I agree with a previous recommendation on here. Make a complaint to the company about how the exploitation of these workers is diminishing the quality of service for customers, not the poor guy subsiding company overheads with his own limited resources.

Davincitoad · 30/12/2019 19:28

@Ashley7 are you saying people should only get parcels if they are going to be in?

Rezie · 30/12/2019 19:42

I personally wish that there would be more lockers that you could request the delivery for. I really dislike home delivery unless I really specifically need it that way. It would be so much easier to pick a locker get a text and go pick it up when it's the best for me.

Earlier in the year my husband was home. The front window was open . They tried to deliver a parcel to my next door neighbours. They weren't in . The delivery driver tried to push the parcel through our open window. Dh was not impressed .
They arnt the best delivery service.

Nobody makes them work for Hermes that’s there choice and most of them are retired. Why shouldn’t people receive their parcels. I love my delivery drivers bar this one ahole who thinks he can just return my parcels because I threatened to put a complaint in. I’m not a mind reader as to why he hasn’t collected my parcel and I’m not having items Against my credit Because he couldn’t collect it on time.

Yesterday he knocked on my door walked of to the neighbours knocked on that door came back and gave me my parcel asked if I would take next doors then realised they were stood there waiting 🤦🏻‍♀️
