To think Graham and Green quality and customer service is appalling

Everything looks great in their online shop and exactly to my taste but when it arrives it's so disappointing. And even when something arrives damaged or seriously flawed they won't take it back unless you pay £6.95 or more for postage. I don't think this is legal but after a few emails with customer service it's not worth fighting over anymore.

Online reviews are pretty bad too, but unfortunately I didn't check before ordering. Don't make the same mistake I did! www.reviews.co.uk/company-reviews/store/graham-and-green

If you know any other shops that offer unusual/quirky home decorations at a reasonable quality please post a link?

Personally i have quite a few items i've bought from them and i've been really pleased with them.

Maybe I've been unlucky then or maybe they've gone downhill since you last ordered, SilverLake. I've only ordered smaller items under £100 perhaps the larger items are ok?

This is AIBU, not yelp.

Their customer service has never been great, and has definitely got worse over the years. They’re obviously struggling because they’ve closed a few shops here in London, and it probably becomes a vicious circle.

A lot of their stock is handmade though, so it will inevitably not be perfect, and I love their mother of pearl furniture and wish I had a house big enough for it.

It's a shame if they're struggling to turn a profit as they do have nice designs and also it's good to see any business that isn't a huge corporation stay afloat nowadays I suppose. On the other hand their stuff isn't cheap and consumers do deserve to at least get what they pay for in terms of quality. But I guess it doesn't really matter at the end of the day...
