DS won't sleep

We're staying at my grandparents. My grandfather is unwell at the moment & needs his sleep. DS is usually a solid 7-7 sleeper. He's been awake since midnight, I'm so exhausted.

I've brought him downstairs but he's so noisy! I can hear that my grandad is awake because we've disturbed him. I'm also extremely tired - I haven't had any sleep yet & DP is awful in the night so I haven't bothered with him. DS is completely overtired after a lovely but v stimulating day. I just feel really WTF. Confused

Anyone else have DC that won't sleep?

Snap. I'm currently in the kitchen with toddler DS pushing him back and forth in his pushchair. No sleep yet either.

No advice, but I can offer sympathy. We all need to be to at 7 to head to the in laws too, which is depressing.

I'm up too, my 13 month old has a feverish cold for the 6th night in a row. We are stuck in one double room at the in laws'... it's been a nice few days but I'm ready to leave tomorrow!

How old is your little one?

The pushchair is a good idea but ours is out in the car! I wish you the best of luck.

My DS is 19 months. Sorry to hear your little one isn't well. Thanks

DC1 is a brilliant sleeper and went down like a dream at 7 despite being high as a kite on sugar and general Christmas cheer... DC2 on the other hand is 12 weeks old and currently up every 1-2 hours all night despite previously having just one night feed. Also shattered!!

Overtiredness and overstimulation are two big sleep killers for little ones and then throw in the fact you are somewhere new and he isn't in his cot it just makes it worse. Hopefully your DH will split the baby care with you if he wont go to sleep so you can both get some sleep. I am sure once you get home your child will sleep well again.

Snap. My 13mo woke up at three and hasn't slept since... I'm in such a mood...
