I had a lovely day! DS was super well behaved, DP got me lovely presents, we had a great Christmas meal and I now have wine!

Mummyshark2019 · 25/12/2019 18:49

It's not over yet!!!!

JingleBelle27 · 25/12/2019 18:50

I survived! With a teething 5 month old too 🙈

Now time for cheese and wine 🍷

Yay.

Agingdisgracefully · 25/12/2019 18:50

Been in bed with a lurgy. Not bothered as it meant I don't have to do the enforced Xmas jollity when I hate it. In-laws came over for lunch which husband cooked and they had a great time.

ClientListQueen · 25/12/2019 19:06

Let's just say the manager at the Indian restaurant saw my face and gave me both a free brandy and a free bottle of wine Grin
Bloody mother

PinkiOcelot · 25/12/2019 19:09

Yes, good day thanks. Did you?

Though I’ve managed to ruin Christmas apparently! Forgot custard for dds sticky toffee pudding!

lifeisgoodagain · 25/12/2019 19:12

Morning was excellent, waking up next to my new dp, rest of day went better than expected considering after dp left, stbexh came around and still hasn't left - he had actually bought me a thoughtful gift even. Hopefully he will leave soon as I'm having to shush my DD's who keep referencing dp (stbexh knows but not right to discuss!)

Lulu1919 · 25/12/2019 19:16

Walked the dogs, did some cooking, then walked the dogs to the pub, then dinner and now watching Independence Day while DH clears the kitchen and keeps me in tea.

Will have some cheese and a lady glass of wine later.

Sprinklemetinsel · 25/12/2019 19:22

Pretty good! DM even stopped talking every now and then (because she was eating or asleep).

Oneborneverydecade · 25/12/2019 19:27

I even managed a 2 hour nap with our toddler whilst DH cooked. And there was no shouting at the kids or from the kids to each other!

MinervaVause · 25/12/2019 19:31

We opened gifts on Christmas Eve so Christmas Day morning was pretty relaxed filled with coffee, orange juice, croissants and LEGO building.

At midday we went to a friends house for a bbq. All the kids played on the trampolines and bikes and ps4 and the adults ate, drank and laughed a lot.

It’s Boxing Day here now so on today’s agenda is Indiana Jones, Lego and crispy pork belly for dinner.

It’s been a really lovely, laid back few days.

MsMellivora · 25/12/2019 19:33

Got up late, DH and I went for a short walk as dinner cooked, rang my sister, lunch at 2.15, Queen’s speech, watched a film, charades and Christmas pudding. Then had a fake snowball fight and a chocolate hunt round the house. Dropped DS GF back home. I’m watching tv and on here for a little while. Some Cold pigs in blankets and beer soon.

flowerstar19 · 25/12/2019 19:34

A lovely day here. Best moment was my just turned two year old coming to find me, reaching up for me and when I was holding him he said 'I love you Mum' for the first time! ❤️

JaceLancs · 25/12/2019 19:35

I have!
Not cooking helped immensely
We had a lovely Xmas meal on Xmas eve
Met up again with family to open presents
Then DS DP and I went out for curry
DB dropped DM at mine 5 ish and we are now sat watching bake off
Might manage a few sandwiches etc later on

PumpkinPie2016 · 25/12/2019 19:35

We have had a lovely day so far! Me, DH and DS (6) at home this morning - had a lovely time opening presents and then chilling/playing with DS new toys. Came to SiL's at about 2.30pm -have had a lovely, relaxed afternoon, just finished Christmas dinner which was excellent.

About to bath DS here before we exchange presents with SiL and co (we always exchange in person).

Then home yo bed for DS and I have a gin and tonic lined up (haven't had any other alcohol today as I am driving).

Tomorrow will be more toy playing and then preparing for my parents to come on the 27th which will be nice too.

I feel sad for all the people who have had a rubbish day Xmas Sad

ilovesooty · 25/12/2019 19:35

It's been fine apart from the fact that I treated the cats to a gourmet meal for Christmas and they've turned their noses up at it. Ungrateful little sods Grin

JaceLancs · 25/12/2019 19:36

Forgot to say no present angst
I received lovely thoughtful presents and people seemed to like what I’d bought them
DP was embarrassed as he’s out of work so couldn’t buy much - but I think he went away happy in end

Holdencaulfieldshomeboy · 25/12/2019 19:44

Wonderful day. Just myself my mum and my two children. It was perfect. No having to tolerate ex partner and his awful family. 4th Christmas in a row its just been us 4 and I wouldn't have it any other way. It was a really happy day filled with lots of fun and excitement.

VaguelySensible · 25/12/2019 19:45

A quiet day, just dh and all our dc. Lots of laughter, everyone was pleased with their gifts both as givers and receivers. No arguments, just a handful of tiny flares which were quickly and peacefully resolved. Everyone mucked in with all the chores - even had teenagers rocking up in the kitchen asking "What job shall I do?"

In light of that last phrase...a lovely day Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas, everyone.

Mumpower123 · 25/12/2019 19:52

Lemsip, tv . Looking forward to bed. But have played games with the kids. Got a new coat. Glad it's done. Anxiety and just confirming to traditional happy families makes it hard unfortunately. 😊

BriefDisaster · 25/12/2019 20:09

It didn't get off to the best start with DD vomiting everywhere but we have soldiered on regardless and its been a good day (think she was just too excited).

DH made the most delicious dinner I think I've ever eaten (roast beef and trimmings - no turkey here) and the kids have had a ball.

Just getting the eldest into bed and won't be long until we are off to sleep ourselves.

aibutohavethisusername · 25/12/2019 20:12

Lovely day. Been with my family half the day and with partner’s family the other half.
Got some amazing presents.

VeryQuaintIrene · 25/12/2019 20:13

Spent the day with my mum in her care home. It was really lovely - beautiful lunch laid on by the incredibly kind staff, my mum behaved beautifully (she doesn't always!), we watched Finding Dory and Strictly (which she was really into, again, rather a surprise for me - she is getting a little easier as she moves into a degree of confusion) and they packed her off to bed at 7 and now I am by myself waiting for my partner to arrive from the US tomorrow. Best Xmas with her I have had in a very long time.

CactusAndCacti · 25/12/2019 20:35

Ours was good, DS has autism and we just go really low key, a couple of moments but nothing too out of the ordinary.
