To not want my Christmas Day full of effing Fortnite

Does anyone else’s DH play this game? It’s xmas day and he’s been on it pretty much constantly. In the main room, taking up the TV. Am I right in thinking this is a kids game? It’s just boring!

Bring on the queen

My dh and ds play it but it’s only been on long enough for them them both to open their present and do one match each. The new switch has however been plugged in half an hour ago so who knows about Pokemon sword Grin I did get everyone to go for a walk earlier and the girls are playing playmobil so not all is lost.

Celebelly · 25/12/2019 17:52

I got Pokemon Sword for my Christmas Grin along with a Switch and some other games. I'm so excited!

Instagrrr · 25/12/2019 17:55

Nope. Because he’s 40 and not a child 🤷🏼‍♀️

Panpastels · 25/12/2019 17:59

No because I'm not married to a 15 year old ! Confused

araiwa · 25/12/2019 18:01

Shock horror adults play games too

whonoes · 25/12/2019 18:02

I don’t mind games on at Xmas that are family inclusive and don’t hog the tv excluding me and his parents who are visiting and who I’ve then got to entertain. I have to put up with constant computer games the rest of the year. When does it get to be a day with what I want?

DP is playing COD and DS Fortnite. As both have headphones I have peace and my kindle, bliss.

WelcomeToGreenvale · 25/12/2019 18:04

Not Fortnite (never Fortnite) but we got back from Christmas dinner with the inlaws about an hour ago and my partner has settled in to play Yakuza 4 all evening (and I'm watching and cheering him on, it's my favourite Yakuza game!)

RozHuntleysStump · 25/12/2019 18:05

Do you only have one tv? I just had two hours to myself in bed watching Forensic Files.. Feel much better.

GrannyBags · 25/12/2019 18:05

I was about to say ‘aw, let him be a kid’ then realised you were talking about DH! Is it just the two of you today??

FeckaDecka · 25/12/2019 18:05

Parenting?.... Just say 'No...' or you have an hour only....

YABU to think that gaming is just for kids.

YANBU to expect him to interact with family and not take up the TV on Christmas Day.

MsMellivora · 26/12/2019 14:02

I play Fortnite and am over 40, however I’m not a selfish arse so didn’t touch my console on Christmas Eve or Christmas day. I may jump on for an hour later but depends what the family want to do.

Also if you have one tv that’s rubbish. DH loves watching football which I don’t so I game on one tv while he watches sport on the other.

I last played four days ago and won a duo match getting the last two kills solo as my mate died :).
