To be having fridge anxiety?

(Answer is probably definitely)
I’ve had food-related anxiety for a number of years. This is my first Christmas in charge of dinner.
I went to get some bits out for dinner last night and was suddenly concerned it wasn’t as cold as usual. Realised it was probably too full, and took some stuff out and turned up the knob to get the cold going a bit stronger.
My turkey’s been in there since Monday night. Am I going to poison my extended family? (If it’s relevant, it’s a stuffed crown from Tesco’s, meant to be good until Boxing Day)

It'll be fine! Don't worry. Get someone to sniff it for you when it's opened to make sure. (Don't sniff it yourself because if you're anything like me you'll convince yourself it's off even if it's not)

It will be fine. Putting more things in the fridge won’t make it warmer.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 25/12/2019 03:34

It's fine love, honestly!

Thank you!! Will ask partner to have a good sniff when it comes out 😊

It will be absolutely fine. I was like this, got a cheap fridge thermometer and found I didn't need a new fridge, it was my imagination. Hmm

Northernsoullover · 25/12/2019 08:03

I second a fridge thermometer. I got one for the same reasons. Fridge anxiety Xmas Wink

Hulahoopqueen · 25/12/2019 08:13

Fridge thermometer says 9c. Turkey packaging says under 4 quietly panics

Don't worry OP. Give it a good roasting.

I grew up in a home without a fridge. Noone died.

JulietTango · 25/12/2019 08:16

Don't worry, 8°c is the legal maximum.
9°c will be fine. Like someone up thread says, just smell it, you'll soon know if it's off
