Neighbours having a party

moleeye · 25/12/2019 00:11

Is it a dick move to go next door and ask them to turn the music down? Clearly they are having a party.

Can't sleep, their music is blaring and they are singing very loudly.

I know it's Christmas Eve so am prepared to be told I'm being an arse. Am worried they'll wake the kids up 😱

I'll be up at 5 with the baby so was hoping for some sleep, arghhhhhhhh

It's after midnight, YANBU to ask them to turn it down.

NoCleanClothes · 25/12/2019 00:14

YANBU it's Christmas eve not NY eve I think their dickish to have a loud party tonight anyway.

LuluJakey1 · 25/12/2019 00:14

Do it. They are absolutely thoughtless and selfish.

moleeye · 25/12/2019 00:25

I've been and knocked and complained. Apparently they are having a 'Christmas party', no shit Sherlock. Oh and they've sent their kids to friends as it's too loud and too late!

They've turned the music off, hurrah! Hopefully they'll quieten down soon as there's a lot of loud and drunk chatting.

God I sound like a kill joy but it's going to be a long arsed day as it is tomorrow!

Yanbu. Plus who sends their kids to friends on Christmas Eve? Confused

toddytoff · 25/12/2019 00:29

Obviously YANBU. It’s christmas eve and it’s late.

NannyPear · 25/12/2019 00:30

YABU, especially if they know you have kids. Dick move on their part having a Xmas Eve party go on so late.

moleeye · 25/12/2019 00:31

@LagunaBubbles I know! I thought the same. All because they want a piss up

I'm just glad my 5year old hasn't been woken up yet from all the noise!

What selfish people. Who does that, and who gets rid of their kids on Christmas Eve 🎄. I hope someone has brought them some parenting classes for Christmas.
Have a great Christmas everyone 🎄💕

LawnsLT · 25/12/2019 00:59

Sent the kids away on Xmas eve... really Confused

moleeye · 25/12/2019 01:06

Ffs, they are actually getting louder and that's without any music.

I'm going to have to get up and go back. Am getting very cross now

Tempted to blast Christmas music very loudly at the crack of dawn but then I'd be lowering myself to their level.

So annoyed

Wankers

SourAndSnippy · 25/12/2019 01:28

What selfish wankers. I'd be pissed off.

sobeyondthehills · 25/12/2019 01:30

My neighbours are also having a party or an argument, its loud enough I can hear it over the TV, but not loud enough for me to make it out.

Bunnylady54 · 25/12/2019 01:41

@nannypear - pretty sure you meant yanbu

NannyPear · 25/12/2019 01:46

@bunnylady54 well spotted, I did indeed. In fact, YADNBU!

MiniEggAddiction · 25/12/2019 01:59

You'd be a kill joy to be going round complaining at 12:15 on new years but it's Christmas sodding eve - it's a bloody stupid night to have a loud party! They're being very inconsiderate.

showmewhatyougot · 25/12/2019 04:48

How annoying! Hope you managed to get some rest Xmas Smile

Merry Christmas x

moleeye · 25/12/2019 07:57

Finally got to sleep at 2am, only for the 5 year old to come in screaming at 4am that Santa had been as there was a stocking in her room.

Managed to persuade her to go back to sleep until 6 when the baby woke us all up.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I’d knock on the door today and ask if Santa took the kids’ presents to their address or their friend’s.
