Can I salvage this? Present error

Posting here for traffic.

I've bought gifts for 3 nephews. The present I ordered (from Amazon - Blush) for the youngest is not great quality and disappointing. The idea was to get him his own version of something his brother has.

I could shuffle gifts around but it would mean the eldest has a gift that isn't as much fun, and the youngest gets a gift that isn't recommended for under 3s (he's a precocious 2).

Should I stick with the disappointing original gift or shuffle? I'm staying with family so don't have a stash of anything else emergency-suitable.

To clarify - the shuffling uses an extra gift so noone gets the Amazon tat

He's 2, I dont think he'll notice tbh 🤷‍♀️ I'd just stick with the gifts you've bought

He’s 2. He won’t care and will prefer the cardboard box

bridgetreilly · 24/12/2019 17:13

Stick. They'll all have plenty of things anyway, I assume. It won't matter if there's one slightly disappointing thing from auntie.

NewPapaGuinea · 24/12/2019 17:16

Wrap a banana 😂

laudete · 24/12/2019 17:18

I agree with PastMe - he's 2 so the gift is actually the box. I doubt he'll pay much attention to the contents. Bonus if it's big enough to sit in (even if it gets squashed).

Palavah · 24/12/2019 17:23

That's pretty unanimous! Yes, they will have loads of gifts.
Thanks all.

Same! Ordered something off amazon, it arrived and the box is slightly damaged and it’s much smaller then I thought. This child’s gift looks a bit pathetic compared to the rest. I called the mum on FaceTime and showed her. She said her daughter wouldn’t care so I’ve wrapped it anyway. Not sure how it will go down tomorrow.

He won't care but it bothering you so you could ask parents advice .

FredaFrogspawn · 24/12/2019 18:17

You could always explain to the parents that it wasn’t what you expected and if you still feel bad, bring him a little additional gift next time you see him.

He's 2. He wont give a damn, the box will be more fun anyway.
