I’ve been proscribed this for bpd 200mg. Is it helpful? I meant to take it twice a day which I don’t get as surely it would be better to take it at the same time? Thanks in advance for any experiences shared

Hi OP,

I’m currently on 100mg. I take it at night as it knocks me out; I can take an extra 25mg during the day if my anxiety is sky high but I’ve not done that yet so not a clue how it would affect me during the day. The dose will be going up again; started on 25mg 6 weeks ago.

I take other meds too but the Quet is mostly for insomnia and anxiety. I’ve not had any noticeable side effects other than a decent nights sleep Xmas Grin

It has helped stabilize my 19-year old with mood disorder for five years now

I take 125 mg a day although i take it at night as it knocks me out too.
I take it for anxiety and to help me sleep, I've never liked the feeling it gives me after i take it ( it feels like the inside of my chest is fluttering)but it helps with my anxiety a lot and don't know how I'd cope without it.

I take 50mg twice a day and 400mg at night, it enables me to sleep without flashbacks and nightmares

I’ve been on 500mg daily for last 4 years for bipolar/psychosis/anxiety, I take 400mg at night & 100mg through the day & it helps me enormously, I am pretty groggy a lot of the day but it’s better than the symptoms it’s covering up

Candyapple49 · 24/12/2019 17:45

I take 600mg split into 2 doses a day for Bpd and have for over 5 years at least .
It makes me groggy , but especially if I am already tired or run down .
I am a teacher , so am always on the go , but if I sit still I could sleep.
Despite this I believe it was one of 3 meds’ to totally change , and possibly save my life . From utter chaos in my head the whole time , I am one of the most stable people I know .

It will knock your socks off if you take it all at once so they split the dose. Your body also uses it up quite quickly, so a split dose encourages stability.

I found it very helpful and more tolerable than Risperdal and Olanzapine. I hope you get some benefit from it too.
