Severe Middle Back Pain, No Answers, Previous Surgery

Hello all,

I am new here and hoping someone might have had a similar experience and found a solution. I am 30+3 weeks in my first pregnancy and for 3+ months have suffered unbearable relentless pain in the middle of my back just to the right of my spine. When it is at it's worst it coincides with a strange spasm sensation (a pulsing) under my right breast. I also have Pelvic Girdle Pain in my hips but the middle pain is the killer, never ceasing and sending me crazy as I cannot sleep.

I have been admitted to hospital twice to no avail. Strong painkillers don't work. They have done MRIs and Ultrasounds which have shown nothing untoward.

I have had a kidney transplant placed in the right side of my front abdomen so there was some suggestion by a physio that adhesions in that area may cause referred pain as my belly grows but this cannot be investigated or solved while pregnant.

I am so desperate and so just thought I would reach out here to see if anyone has had similar symptoms and if anything at all helped.

I have tried Physio, Cranial Osteopathy, Chiropractor, Massage, Yoga and nothing has helped so far.

Thanks for any suggestions. :)

Possibly gallbladder pain? I had similar and it was my gallbladder.

Not to be rude. But are you fat?

@Mammylamb, thank you for your response. They did do an ultrasound on my gallbladder and said it was normal but not sure what they were looking for exactly. How did you discover yours and what was the issue exactly? I'm not fat at all no, currently weighing at 60kg and have always been very slim.

This probably isn't quite what you want to hear but if they've not found anything with MRI, ultrasound and bloods then it probably isn't anything life threatening, but that means it will be something that you'll need to manage until your baby is born and hopefully it will resolve on its own.

9ish weeks to go, you've got through 12 with the pain so you're over half way!!

I was wondering if one of your ribs is slightly out of alignment possibly with the baby growing. I slightly subluxed a rib and it was like a stabbing pain by my spine and an ache in the front. One day it clunked back into place and the relief was immense.
