Buying for ourselves

My ILs have asked us to buy our own presents.
Myself, DH and DD

They say they want to make sure we get something we definitely want, but also complain that they don't like shopping for presents.

AIBU to think it's a cop out?

It's actually really annoying, they didn't give a budget so we're trying to pick something that is reasonable but not too cheap either

I love Christmas, I love planning and picking presents (even the hard to buy for people), I love wrapping them nicely and handing them over and seeing people enjoy their gift.

I also love receiving gifts, they don't have to be flashy or expensive, it really is the thought that counts!
It's the fact someone cares enough to think about what I'd like and go and get it!
