I read that there were two narwhal tusks and another guy had the other but didn't want publicity. He (presumably the Polish chef) used it when the guy in this article had gone to get the other one.

Polish chef wasn’t narwhal guy. Lukasz was stabbed 5 times helping victims escape. That’s why he’s being hailed a hero.
