Why would she do this.

We met up with some friends for a quick Christmas drink about 4pm after about an hour this daughter called in for one drink, after having her nails done, as she left gave us both a hug and a kiss.
And a few other people as well.
We get home and this idiot just posted on FB that both her children and her husband have got the nerovirus and she hopes she doesn't get it. No mention from her parents or her about this illness.
Why would you come in to a busy pub and gives kisses etc. Is she more important than us in not getting ill over Christmas.
I'm a carer for my 91 year old Mil, so cannot be ill, my mum is 84 and not well at the moment.
I'm so angry.

Difficult... she probably thought that she was immune and could carry on regardless.
Some people just don’t think. It’s annoying but if everyone stopped whatever they do because someone in the family is poorly then nothing would ever get done.
It’s why diseases spread and it’s why we all try carry on with our lives.
I work in a Primary School. During the last couple of weeks our classes have been down by a third or more. I have elderly parents/in-laws . I have friends with babies. Should I stay at home for a week just in case?

Maybe she didn’t know till she got home?

If she knew beforehand however. That’s horrific. I’ve got a rare disease and right now I’m having chemo. My hair hasn’t fallen out yet. So most don’t even know I am. (Apart from looking life shit each day!). Sickness bugs could kill me. Not just make me sick. But actually kill me

Hey people don’t give a shit.

Mrshue · 20/12/2019 20:00

@1Morewineplease. Yep. I would. I have it with my children’s school that if more than 2 are sick in their class. They get sent home and we have agreement of 3 days off. Regardless if they are sick. The school know how important my life is. Rather than their ratings. Thank god

YANBU, I would be furious (assuming she knew they had norovirus before she came to the pub). I’d be very tempted to comment or message her and ask her why she did that.

Drum2018 · 20/12/2019 20:05

I don't respond to her fb post saying "you better not be carrying it after being at the pub today hugging and kissing peopleAngry "

Drum2018 · 20/12/2019 20:05

That should read 'I'd respond"

hotstepper4 · 20/12/2019 20:17

Its probably ok as long as she herself was not actively vomiting or having diarrhoea. You can only catch norovirus from being in direct contact with the ill persons bodily fluids

joystir59 · 20/12/2019 20:18

My 86 yr old mil lives with us and has a cold. We are having absolutely minimal contaCt with her because oh recovering from.major surgery and I'm looking after everyone. Mil a bit lonely but she had what she needs and it cannot be helped as we simply cannot afford to get her cold.

BonnyConnie · 20/12/2019 20:20

Maybe she only realised when she got home?

Burlea · 20/12/2019 20:27

Husband and children have been ill for a couple of days.
