In a way it serves me bloody right as there was a thread earlier this week about Uber eats and McDonald’s, and I felt the pain of the OP, however i don’t usually have issues with Uber eats with other take aways...until now.
This week I’ve been in and out of hospital with my mother, dropping off DS at school, spending the whole day with her in hospital then leaving in time to collect DS ( his school isn’t round the corner either) so I remembered I had a 50% off from Uber as they have been trying to entice me back for some time and on Wednesday I was so shattered and I had nothing that I could just rustle up so thought l may as well use it.
I placed my order etc and then about 15-20mins after I placed the order the take away cancelled it. This alone got me annoyed as i had just wasted all that time, however I then had to move on to plan b. I checked my bank account and noticed they had actually charged me so I emailed them saying they need to refund me to which the response was,
“as you cancelled as a one time favour we will refund you this time”
I’m thinking you aren’t doing me any blooming favours, you cancelled my order I’m simply expecting a refund, I then reply back can the refund be processed ASAP rather than the 7-10 days you sometimes have to wait if there’s has been a disputed order but there’s nothing to dispute as the restaurant cancelled the order.
I then get a reply from a different agent now saying they aren’t refunding me and he can’t look into the matter any further?!? He then goes on about they cannot offer me further discounts or credit????
I wasn’t asking for discounts, in fact I told them I would no longer be using them, so I am not sure where me wanting discounts came from, I’m simply after the money you took despite the restaurant cancelling the order.
Now I’m going to have to go via my bank etc to get them to sort it which is going to take a few weeks given it’s Christmas and all.
Uber are such blooming crooks and whilst they have been mean with refunds on the odd item here and there I have never known them to flat out steal customers money in this way.
