AIBU to expect people to be nice?

I'm on a longer thread regarding TTC which has been going for a while now.
We're a varied group of ladies who are each going through different things in life and have different TTC journeys, but all support each other, making no judgements (if they are, we certainly don't post about it) and generally being nice human beings to each other!

All of a sudden two new members have joined, and before I could read (the comments were removed), began berating another member unfairly, commenting on her TTC journey as if she wasn't entitled to feel the way she felt?!

I find this absolutely crazy. Why bother to join a thread to be mean to someone you don't know, when it's clearly not a place for drama? For some even a place to escape and destress?
Why are people so mean?!

BAFFLES ME!

P.s. I haven't name changed because I don't care if people figure it out
P.p.s. I hope the lady I've mentioned doesn't mind me posting this, I'm just so enraged!

People love to hide behind screens - I guarantee most of the nasty women on this site would never say the same things to people's faces! Some people just live for drama

Keyboard warriors. The cloak of anonymity brings out the worst in many people! All the petty annoyances or frustrations of their day/week/life get taken out on anonymous strangers.

You have to feel sorry for them in a way because what miserable souls they must have to enjoy such shittiness.

Well absolutely YANBU to feel like that but perhaps a teeny bit YABU to expect everybody else to be so nice. Internet threads allow people to be arses to each other. My rule is don't say anything on a forum that you wouldn't say to somebody face to face.

Maybe you're right @5foot5.
It still just baffles me that people actively choose and spend time being mean about something as sensitive as TTC.

At Christmas time too! What happened to Christmas joy?! Female solidarity?! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️
