Weird question --
I was home alone (so only one car in the drive way) when i heard a lot of commotion from outside I looked out and saw a young adult man at my door step taking pictures of my door entrance area while his car blared music & i think i may have heard what sounded like a baby with him? and maybe a woman talking as well? i believe they saw me and as soon as they did, jumped in their car and took off. i'm in a fairly rural area that you can't even stop on the side of the street they had to pull into my yard. i don't know if i'm just paranoid, but should i be worried?

Definitely dodgy. They’re probably scoping out the locks and the area for their up and coming crime spree. I’d just let the police know. Did you get a car rego?

AllergicToAMop · 19/12/2019 19:03

Scoping the locks while being loud af. I really don't think so.

Is there anything interesting by your entrance? If you are fairly rural, is it by touristy area?

ShristmasChopper · 19/12/2019 19:06

We're they trying to steal ant Xmas decs.

My friend lives in a rural location and had 3 wreaths stolen off her front door so far this month.

chillykiwi · 19/12/2019 19:06

Were they leaving a parcel and taking a photo for proof? It does sound bizarre though.

Something similar happened to my house, when the DC were home alone Sad still no idea what was going on, but that was 2 weeks ago and they haven't been back.

TheReluctantCountess · 19/12/2019 19:08

They weren’t being very stealthy, so I doubt if it was anything to be really worried about. It’s most odd though.

unknownartemis · 19/12/2019 19:10

i didn't really get a good look at the car but is the situation enough to even call police??? like am i just able to voice my concern or would that be unwarranted

Were they taking photos of your front door? They might be getting a new one and liked the style of your door. It's something I would probably do.

LL83 · 19/12/2019 19:12

Too noisy, I wouldn't worry. Phone probably out looking for signal for directions. Or arguing with each other.

AppropriateAdult · 19/12/2019 19:15

I have taken pictures of strangers’ windows before, when we were deciding what style to go for in our new house Blush But I was a bit more subtle about it than this guy.

mummyduckduck · 19/12/2019 19:33

Sounds like they're lost. Maybe trying to find a friend's house for the first time and txting the friend a picture to check it's the right house before they knock?

Just a guess but I don't think many burglars take babies with them, they're a bit of an inconvenience.

BriefDisaster · 19/12/2019 20:16

Do you have a particularly gorgeous or unusual house? They could be snapping pictures for instagram to pass off as their own.

Rosspoldarkssaddle · 19/12/2019 23:51

Get yourself a video doorbell. Then you can see what is going on and they can see you have one.
