4 month old with rash

Just posting to see if anyone knows what this is. My 4 month old has developed this rash over the last 3 hours. Her temperature is 38.2 and feels hot to touch. Anyone know what it could be?

Have you done the meningitis glass test?

Soen · 18/12/2019 21:25

Please do the glass test to rule out meningitis. Have you given paracetamol or ibuprofen?

Soen · 18/12/2019 21:26

38.2 seems a bit high too.

FrostyGirl66 · 18/12/2019 21:32

Photo would help

whatsonmymind · 18/12/2019 21:35

Haven't given calpol yet. Checked temperature now 37.8. Did the glass check and it faded slightly. Rash only on the side of the head. Shes having a feed now fine.

Download the baby check app (lullaby trust). It’s a triage system telling you what to do

Rachelle1980 · 18/12/2019 21:36

Why are you asking strangers on the internet? This is an abnormal course of action. We don't, and couldn't possibly, fucking know. It could be nappy rash or meningitis or a million other things.

Call 111 like a responsible parent, ffs.

whatsonmymind · 18/12/2019 21:37

Have tried uploading a photo. Keeps saying success but not coming up

It's really irresponsible to ask strangers on the internet this question. Please seek appropriate medical advice

Greywalls12 · 18/12/2019 21:39

Please call 111, they will be able to advise much better than anyone here can

whatsonmymind · 18/12/2019 21:49

Fucking hell. I would not say I'm a irresponsible parent. I have been on hold for medical advice since 8pm. Was only asking people if they had similar experiences so I could try and determine what to do in the meantime. I'm a terrified parent asking for help whilst waiting for appropriate medical advice.

Please, please have a look at the symptoms guide on the Meningitis Now website and if any fit your child's current condition get medical help immediately. I sincerely hope it's nothing so serious but having been through the nightmare of Meningitis with DS it's better to err on the side of caution.

StopMakingATitOfUrselfNPissOff · 18/12/2019 22:19

Give calpol.
Do glass test.
Ring 111.
Retake temp after half an hour.

justasking111 · 18/12/2019 22:23

I would phone again for medical advice telling them you have phoned them before.

Gossipjunkie22 · 18/12/2019 22:26

Typical mumsnetters quick to point the finger n accuse you of being a bad mother! Isn't that the point of this website to get advice? Keep on at 111 and here's hoping they give you the assistance you need hope lo is feeling better soon

Rachelle1980 · 18/12/2019 22:32

There's no point listening to online stranger "advice" with scant, potentially severe symptoms in a baby!

Look, step away from your phone, call 111 again and / or follow the trusted sources re meningitis tests that you could have googled.

If you get reassurance from anyone on here, you're mad. You need trustworthy medical advice, not strangers telling you it's all fine, because we're not in a position to say that.

NomNomNomNom · 18/12/2019 22:39

I'd ring 111 although whenever I've rung they've had me go into hospital especially with a rash so be prepared.

EKGEMS · 18/12/2019 22:58

Best of luck dear and your sweet little baby! It's so scary when they're ill and you don't know what's going on!
