Some people on here wind me right up, are they not aware that they don’t have to spout utter shite on every single thread they click on?

And I’m not talking about just disagreeing with people, that’s great, nothing beats a healthy debate but people who click onto a thread titled something like ‘Isn’t Spaghetti wonderful’ and the thread is full of cheer until someone comes along with ‘WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT SPAGHETTI, DON’T YOU HAVE LIVES’

don’t open the thread if you’re not interested in the title

Note: when I say they wind me right up, they cause a tut and an eye roll and that’s a lot of effort during these sleep deprived times.

Haha I agree I just hide the threads I think that are stupid.

Recrim · 18/12/2019 19:23

Recrim · 18/12/2019 19:24

that was a joke just incase i get flamed

Igotthemheavyboobs · 18/12/2019 19:25

This has to be the zillionth thread on this subject in a week! Can't you use the search function and contribute to one of those?

Bluntness100 · 18/12/2019 19:26

Meh, it's a chat forum, you're too invested if you get this het up.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 18/12/2019 19:26

that was a joke just incase i get flamed

Same 😁

ArsenicNLace · 18/12/2019 19:27

I agree and am slightly baffled by those who do.

I remember a thread in style and beauty where the OP wanted advice on the best foundation for 50 plus skin. (It was clearly in the title). It was all going swimmingly until one poster wrote something along the lines of 'I don't wear foundation. I can't be bothered with make-up'.

Then why open the thread in the first place and really what was the point in writing a post? Some attempt to feel superior to everyone else? Really odd.

I agree totally.

Except when people are asking questions about what can their Elf-on-the-shelf do next, or what to put in their Xmas Eve boxes, or any number of other long-winded so-called traditions that are just making work.
Then I will tell them they are daft and making a rod for their own backs. Because they are Grin

While it doesn’t wind me up as such, I do think that someone coming on to an inocuous thread to state that people need to get a life clearly don’t have one of their own if they can take the time to post there.

The spelling/grammar pedants annoy me though. I’ve seen them post on really sensitive threads just to point out one spelling mistake, while contributing absolutely nothing to the thread. Now there are people who really need to get a life. Grin

Goawayquickly · 18/12/2019 19:34

When someone famous has died and there’s a fairly long thread with people saying how much they loved this actors work, anecdotes about when they met/saw them, how great this film was etc and it’s clear this was a well known person. Someone always pops up to say ‘I have no idea who your talking about’. Makes me think ‘fucking Google him’

GiveHerHellFromUs · 18/12/2019 19:35

The most annoying, pointless comment I see all the time on here is "I couldn't get worked up about that."
Go away then and let us be upset by it!

paranoidmum2 · 18/12/2019 19:36

YANBU, I love spaghetti.

GoToSleepYouSod · 18/12/2019 19:39

It’s just the superior tone of them as well, honestly my eyes roll, I’m still waiting for them to come back down after reading a thread within the same tone mentioned by GoAwayQuickly

Spaghetti for LIFE!

Trying to police how people post will end up with you sitting in a corner going 'wibble'

Just ignore posters you don't want to engage with. And realise that their way of commenting on the thread is also valid from their POV.

I’m not trying to police how threads are run, I’m just saying if it’s not of interest to you, great move along, don’t add your snotty tooty opinion before you leave.
