No response on pregnancy thread and really need some advice

Hi,

Sorry to post here, but I have posted numerous times on the pregnancy thread and never really get a response (probably the time of day, people don't check that section as much as here or they just couldn't help) but I'm hoping some mums or pregnant mums can help.

I noticed I was a bit damp in my underwear and went to check and there was like a tablespoon size of saturated underwear as if I had leaked something, it was clear. It was different to discharge because I also had yellow stains in my underwear (sorry, too much info). This morning I noticed the tiniest speck of red on my underwear, like a pin prick, but didn't worry until this fluid.

It's only been the once but I've got a bit of cramping in my back and I keep needing to pee as if my baby is on my bladder. I'm 22 weeks exactly.

Anyone know what this could me? I'm going to go down to the labour ward but could really do with some hand holding as I have terrible anxiety.

I last had my cervix checked last Thursday and it was high and closed and I had a scan on Sunday and the fluid looked good. I'm hoping it's nothing but you know how the mind gets when you're pregnant.

Thank you and sorry again for posting here, I know it'll probably be moved but thought I'd take my chances. Don't mean to irritate anyone x

Never a call to midwife wasted.. Give her a ring.

CakeandCustard28 · 17/12/2019 16:40

Ring them. Best to be safe than sorry. Hope everything is well OP.

lostandconfused2 · 17/12/2019 16:41

Sorry should have mentioned I did call my midwife and she said the labour ward will see me, just wanting to know if it's happened to anyone else for some comfort before I have a panic attack :(

Why had they previously checked your cervix?

You are doing the right thing and heading to the hospital. Good luck.

ChristmasCakeLover · 17/12/2019 16:51

You might have a UTI. Best to get checked. Do you feel ill?

ChristmasCakeLover · 17/12/2019 16:52

My waters trickled towards the end and were clear, if that's what your concern is? Smelling it, it smelt nothing like urine. Had no scent.

ISmellBabies · 17/12/2019 16:53

Possibly thrush. It can make watery discharge, quite a lot of it too.

elliejjtiny · 17/12/2019 16:56

Thinking of you and hoping all is ok. It's probably either nothing or a uti or thrush but best to get checked out.

Bunnybaubles · 17/12/2019 16:59

I had this in my last 2 pregnancies. Both times I was seen straight away in triage to make sure my waters weren't leaking.

Before going I wiped with toilet roll (sorry TMI) so I could show the on duty midwife how soaked with pink liquid it was.

Turned out not to be my waters and we never did get to the bottom of it. Both babies were born premature because of pre-eclampsia but that's linked to another condition I have and not the pink water.

At 22 wks the cramping and baby leaning right on your bladder are normal.

But it is ALWAYS best to get checked straight away, so you're doing the right thing going in.

I know it's a worry, I stressed over every little thing and by the 3rd trimester convinced myself if my babies were not out soon something bad could happen so i do understand your anxiety. I hope it's all good news and you go home later all smiles at hearing the little heartbeat Flowers

Sorry, I was just getting ready to go to the hospital. I don't think I have a UTI as I only recently had my urine tested and it was fine. I don't feel poorly in myself either just a lot of pressure in my pelvis. I had my cervix checked because I was having stomach and back pain and they just wanted to check it was still closed which it was. I'm going to be leaving shortly, thank you for all the comments and well wishes. I'll update this thread when I get home which might not be for a few hours depending on how busy it is x

Good luck and hope everything is ok 💐

lioness88 · 17/12/2019 17:26

OP I never had the blood but I had discharge like this for most of the second half of my pregnancy. I would feel it pouring out of me! Good luck at triage, please update us x

elanna · 17/12/2019 17:59

Hope you're okay OP. I had the same (including a small amount of blood) right up until 26 weeks. All was well so don't panic.

Beseen19 · 17/12/2019 18:07

Can you feel baby moving at all yet? Hope all goes well with the checks.

I had very watery discharge from about 25weeks to 28 weeks, all has been checked a few times and my cervix has also been checked and all good, baby has plenty of waters. I dont remember this with my first baby at all and I was absolutely convinced it was my waters. I had a lot of pressure at that stage too, very low down. I'm now 34 weeks and it has calmed down a bit but it seems to come in like a little trickle...exactly like people say when their waters leak. But like I said if anything my cervix is pretty long and definitely closed, baby has plenty of waters and happy wriggling away.

X0X0 · 17/12/2019 19:46

Go and get checked out, no harm doing that, I had a big blood loss at around 14 weeks, but was fine after getting checked out

Hope it all goes well Flowers

TheArtfulScreamer1 · 17/12/2019 20:27

Hope it's all ok but I bet it's just discharge I had all sorts of weird and wonderful Confused things leak out of me whilst pregnant including waking up one morning wet through convinced my waters had gone (as I knew it wasn't urine) I duly headed to the hospital to be checked and it wasn't waters at all just this weird extreme watery discharge that some women experience. Pregnancy is a very mixed bag of all sorts of weird grossness.

lostandconfused2 · 18/12/2019 21:40

Hi just wanted to update, was all okay, everything looked and sounded good it was just some watery discharge apparently I might have a bit of an infection. Thanks for all the messages xx

Sorry OP - I was late to this but I had similar - it was basically urine leakage which was a bit embarrassing.

I also had a bit of spotting which was after sex and nothing else to worry about.

That pregnancy is now a 22 month old whirlwind currently fighting sleep.

Glad it’s all ok.
