Can I divorce DH over the Christmas tree? (lighthearted)

LIGHTHEARTED

It took me years to find the perfect tree and I finally did, two years ago, spent over £100, it was the perfect height, the perfect green, the branches were lovely and thick, it was perfect.

DH just admitted that last year instead of putting it away in the loft, he actually binned it!

Would it come under unreasonable behaviour in the divorce papers?

Why on earth did he bin it?!

Spartonian · 16/12/2019 18:31

I have no idea why he binned it, guess it was easier than putting away.

He has now gone out with DC to replace the perfect tree.

What a twit!
Ours is 13 years old this year, still going strong

Spartonian · 16/12/2019 18:36

Twit is rather polite, to what I actually wanted to call him.

I threatened dh with divorce for suggesting a fake tree next year!!
Xmas Grin

Fucck · 16/12/2019 18:39

I know this is lighthearted but that's some seriously fucking lazy dickery! I wouldn't be fucking lighthearted in the slightest. What a waste!

cheeseislife8 · 16/12/2019 18:39

LTB immediately, he's clearly a sociopath

Ocomeocomeimaginaryfleas · 16/12/2019 18:44

Show him the Balsam Hill website and tell him that’s where the next one’s coming from. Make sure he sees the prices. I guarantee he won’t throw it away again.

Spartonian · 16/12/2019 18:45

It's pure laziness, he does not understand how long it took to find that tree, 13 years incase anyone is actually interested.
13 years of having small, not quite perfect trees until I finally found it and now it's gone.

I don’t find that funny in the slightest. What an obscene waste of money by him and so fucking sly not to tell you.

RJnomore1 · 16/12/2019 18:54

Send him that link tell him you want that one.

AuditAngel · 16/12/2019 18:55

My DH would definitely be looking at the patio from below?

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 16/12/2019 18:56

Yanbu at all. This is definitely grounds for divorce. I had called him some very choice names too

Cohle · 16/12/2019 19:07

How?? Why???

I actually can't understand the wastefulness involved in throwing out a perfectly good artificial tree after one Christmas. Does he regularly burn £50 notes? I am baffled by this. Please do divorce him.

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 16/12/2019 19:10

What?! Xmas Shock
Does he prefer real ones?

Spartonian · 16/12/2019 19:11

He is back, with a real tree.

We had an agreement, when we finally bought our own house, that would of been when, we were going to have our first ever real tree.

He is now putting the real tree up next to the radiator!

OP posts:
SauvignonBlanche · 16/12/2019 19:13

I’d divorce you for having an artificial tree first but what a spectacular waste once the money has been spent.

Flavarings · 16/12/2019 19:16

Oh OP, how bloody dude,
My DP has recently brought me that Balsam Hill Canadian Blue tree as ive had a pretty rough time at the moment to cheer me up! Atleast he's brought a real tree to make up for it!

Cherrysoup · 16/12/2019 19:18

Binned an artificial tree? I’d be extremely angry at that. I have an artificial one, my point being that I don’t need to contribute to further damage to the climate by buying a real one every year. But then my dh isn’t an idiot.

SauvignonBlanche · 16/12/2019 19:19

Yes! 🎄
All is forgiven

Spartonian · 16/12/2019 19:20

We lost the house we were buying, to a higher bidder, after our offer had been accepted, so it feels like a kick in the teeth.

OP posts:
steff13 · 16/12/2019 19:23

I've never had a real tree; is next to the radiator the best place to put it?

Spartonian · 16/12/2019 19:24

I need to get over it and just enjoy what we have with the DC.

He tried
