To think this could be the peri-menopause

Posting here for traffic.

I've been to my GP bug basically been told it's not by a male GP.

I'm so itchy, mostly in the morning and then last thing at night.

I'm 41, my Mum started the menopause at this age.

I'm on the contraceptive pill Ridgividon (?sp) but my periods are non-existent. I literally bleed for 1 maybe 2 days out of my 7 day break and it's extremely light.

My collar bone aches, I almost have to press on it to stop it aching.

My hips and knees are really sore. There is a genetic link with hips and knees. My mum has had 2 hip replacements in her 50's. Her sister has had knee replacement surgery.
Her other sister is waiting on hip surgery and is 52.

Just wondering if people have experienced these symptoms and if they have been the menopause. Is there anything over the counter that may help ?

Go to a different GP in the practice and ask for a blood test.

If you ask for this to be reposted in the menopause section, you will get some good advice on this Smile

It's now recommended that all women who go through the menopause under 45, be given HRT. The benefits outway any risks.

So you need a second opinion.

@BitOfFun do you know if the nurse can take the blood test or will have to be via a GP appointment ?

Aches and pains are a sign. Try tumeric capsules, they helped me.

Vitamins d?

I was also thinking Vit D. But a blood test will show if levels of that or anything else are low.

Ask to see a different GP. Look up peri symptoms, I hadn’t linked my insomnia and amxiety. I started peri at 36 ish and went on hrt a few years later. About 42/3. I had to badge at the go surgery.

So, had bloods done.
Got the results today, low hormone levels and low oestrogen.
The GP said the results could be false tho as I'm on the combined pill so I've to go back on Friday for more bloods after a week off my pill.
It does seem like I'm starting the peri-menopause.
