Help me find a party.

Hi all,
I am bored to death with the monotony of day to day life. Everyone seems to have got some sort of plan, for the Christmas & New year. I am generally ok with every day things but I guess I need a break. Something nice to look forward to for the holidays. But there is no plan. I have been asking my my OH since October, to make a getaway plan. I rely on his confirmation, as he is self employed and needs to let me know about his availability. But nothing has come out of our frequent discussions. He doesn't seem to be bothered.
I just want to do something. I don't mind going on my own now. Go to a New year party. Does anyone know about a nice place in London that hosts a New Years party? Or any other ideas how to rejuvenate myself.
I am in my late thirties.
Please hit me with ideas. Smile

DH and I did New Year's at Southbank Centre once - it was a fun party and we had a great view of the fireworks.

Good for you OP! Really admire people like you who are brave enough to just go for it and put themselves out there trying to make a change

Which area of London, as transport might be a nightmare? I bet local pubs/restaurants have stuff going on, do you know other couples who might want to join you, a small group should be fun

Have you tried the meetup website? I’m in another city but I know there are several social groups here hosting NYE parties for people who want to socialise but may be alone for whatever reason. I’ve met some great people at meetup events and many people go solo, it’s definitely worth a look.

For example, this is one in Bristol - I’m sure London will have similar

Knitfast- I won't bother trying to gather a group because it's going to be time consuming. Also, everyone has got a plan in place. But I will keep this in mind for future.

Oh I didn’t mean organise one yourself, I meant join an existing one!

I was going to suggest the Southbank too. Also look at the Flying Solo meet up. Technically it is for singles but it is also about making new friends rather than dates.
