Boob pain!

Posted in pregnancy but no response and quite honestly I am desperate for advice before i call pregnancy line as i don't want to seem a pain to them!

15w4d. Second pregnancy.

Boobs have naturally been a little more sensitive than usual. But one is a LOT more sensitive, so much so it is painful and getting progressively worse.

To the point my DH caught it in bed last night and I ended up in tears with the pain. I never even complained during DDs birth! I'm not that prone to moaning about pain! Let alone crying.

It hurts to wear a bra. Fabric rubbing on it hurts. Other boob is a little sensitive but in general okay.

I know pregnancy symptoms like that should be wearing off now, not getting worse?! Is it possible to have an infection in milk ducts already?!

I tried to have a nap when DD went down as we are both suffering nasty colds but I couldn't even get comfortable due to it.

I was going to say it sounds like it could be a blocked duct. Any redness? Do you have a fever?

WhereDidThisComeFrom · 13/12/2019 13:56

No fever, just very rundown in general. Although I do put that down to a bad cold as DD has the same currently.

Book in to see the GP or nurse. Probably nothing serious but if its that painful i would get it checked.

Was hoping to avoid that with an ill 17 month old in tow. Although I do think it is a case of needing to be physically seen. Will ask DH to watch DD on his day off and go to out of hours on sunday (earliest chance without the little one!)

Thank you all

You can have a blocked duct/mastitis when you’re not even pregnant, so could well be that. Make an appointment to see your GP.

Oh god. I really hope it isn't! I've been pretty much constantly ill or recovering from illness ever since I fell pregnant. Poor DD must wonder where her fun time mum has gone, makes me feel so guilty.

As others have said see your GP.

I used to get horrifically sore boobs, like you bra wearing and being touched was so painful, the best relief I ever found was a warm to hot bath, deep enough to get my boobs under the water and give them a really good soak, I hope you try it and it works for you

WhereDidThisComeFrom · 13/12/2019 18:17

I've been bathing daily to help muscle aches/boobs. Dd finds it hilarious to lean over and pinch my nipples or lean over at such dangerous angles there is no relaxing to be had!

Dh has been working really long hours and with feeling unwell quite honestly if I didn't bathe when she was awake, I just wouldn't have the energy.

Roll on Sunday for some rest time! I may get my iron levels checked as well as I was deficient before and I know that run me down massively. As i hardly think feeling so poop for so long is doing my any favours with dealing with other stuff as well!
