I was on a flight yesterday back to a UK airport and was very concerned about a lady who was travelling with 2 young children and presumably her husband/partner.

She had a black eye, was crying in her seat at the start of the flight and just look terrified.

I really felt she was suffering from domestic abuse but truly didnt know what to do. I've been thinking about her all night but didnt know if approaching her and asking if she needed help would make things worse? Or would it have helped? I tried to get close to them through baggage collection and passport control in the hope of striking up a conversation but the lady wasn't making eye contact with anyone and I just didnt know the best thing to do without making anything worse for her.

I think you would have been best off letting someone on the flight crew know. Airlines have a duty of care for their passengers and it could, for example, have been a human trafficking situation which airlines usually have policies in place to take action on.

I don't know whether reporting it to the airline now would do any good, but it might be worth a try?

Report it to the airline. They may be able to view CCTV or look at seat numbers and be able to check if this woman is ok via their Human Trafficking policy.

In future always report to staff/ security same day.

Agree with previous posters. I would have let the airline staff know. Contact the airline. They will still have details of the passenger on the system. They may be able to contact the right people to do a welfare check on her
