Free boiler government funded

Has anyone had a free boiler/ floor insulation paid for by a government grant? Its sounds good but what kind of boiler is fitted. Has anyone been through the process? The only benefit i get is child benefit but looking online it seems i should be eligible.

I had one fitted a few years ago. All I can say is that it was a boiler.

No thought for how ugly the pipes were or electrical bits but it was free so I was really grateful at the time.

Maybe you could have more input about where you'd like it, remedial work etc? I didn't but that could have been because they thought I wasn't bothered.

Yes but the damage they did to my Utility room and around the radiators is yet to be put right 3 years later. If I could turn back time I would live with my old boiler just to have my lovely house the way it was.

I don't think child benefit alone qualifies you does it?

I did get a new boiler, which was free and is more efficient than my previous (ancient) boiler.

But my landlord had to really keep on the contractors to do the job properly, and they had to come back out several times before it was really sorted.

I had a free boiler, it was a Baxi. They did a brilliant job and cleaned up after themselves. My landlord was delighted and very grateful as the old one was overdue to be replaced.

Is this really a thing?
Every time I've tried to look in to it for a family member it seems to be scams or companies wanting £10000 upfront which they pay you back in installments
