Environmental impact of election campaign
exiledfromcornwall · 09/12/2019 14:34
Just felt I needed to vent about the amount of paper that has come through the front door during the election campaign. Admittedly we are a marginal seat, but even so we have had at least 2 or 3 items through the door daily, often repeating the same things, which seems massively excessive. Isn't it about time these political parties were taken to task over this assault on the environment?
Am I being unreasonable?

Don’t you have a recycling bin, OP? You’d be more annoyed if we were putting plastic through the door!
It’s impossible to get round and speak to every voter in person, especially in a winter election with darkness falling so early. The only practical way to get the message to everyone is by leafleting. I’m in a very tight marginal in Scotland (majority of just 21), and have delivered 600 leaflets myself for our local candidate.
