To want to be rich

orcaaa · 08/12/2019 16:32

Problem is my line of work, noble though it is, isn't geared towards the big bucks.

Anyone else wanting to hit the lofty big times but just won’t ever earn enough?

I don’t want to be rich (although wouldn’t say no). I would like to be comfortable and have some savings.

Catapillarsruletheworld · 08/12/2019 16:41

Yep me too. I’d be so good at being rich... sigh...

CherryPavlova · 08/12/2019 16:47

It’s all relative. Many in the world, 664 million approx, don’t have access to clean water. More still don’t have access to adequate sanitation- 2.4 billion.
In the U.K. there are families struggling with homelessness.
How poor are you?

Most jobs can lead to much higher income if people work smart. The traditional noble professions were medicine, the church and being an attorney. Amongst the top 15 most respected professions internationally , most can lead to a very comfortable income.
You’ll probably not get rich as a vicar, it’s true. Nice houses though.

All it takes to feel ‘rich’ is to spend less than you earn.

Perfect that at and you can be content with what you have.

No one needs the extra ‘stuff’ that is generally just keeping up with marketing and what people persevere to be ‘normal’.

Freesunglasses · 08/12/2019 17:06

Not really. All I was is enough money to be able to eat and go on a few holidays abroad every year. I really don't care about material possessions and seeing all the homeless and poor all around I feel very lucky I have a home, a little saved and family.

Also the amount of friends and acquaintances I've lost to cancer these past few years I'm also just happy to have my health.

That is true, rebel, very true!
