To ask for help with mobile data?

I have a good cheap deal with Virgin for my mobile. It's no longer available. Starting again I'd have to pay more for less data.

I don't normally use my data but for next month I'll m going to be living in a place with no WiFi. I'll be looking after a relative so it's already stressful. Having to do it without access to internet (beyond my small allowance) is filling me with dread!

I can't upgrade plan with Virgin for a month and return to existing deal as it's no longer available.

It's occurred to me that a solution might be to get a sim only data deal just for a month, and use it with a spare phone (my iPhone is locked and still in contract). I only want to use the phone as a hotspot.

I'm not very technical. Do people think this might be possible? If so does anyone know of a good sim only data deal?

But 3 signal can be a bit patchy so you might want to see what the signal is like in your area
