To quit now?

I have just seen my job advertised on Gumtree!!
I was going to quit after Xmas anyway as he is a bully but shall I quit now and drop him in it over Xmas?
He has given me nothing but abuse via text for 2 years and I have tried to rise above it. Even questioning my own capabilities - although I have not had any other complaints from customers.
For example raging via text about fish in a microwave on a Thursday - I hadn't cleaned since the Monday as usual so chances are someone put fish in between then!
Photos of cobwebs in rooms I haven't been asked to clean. Missed binmen after putting bin out at his specified time.
Window left open - a window I can't even reach to open!
Can't find my contract but would giving notice tomorrow and work til 30th be OK?
I feel relief even at the thought!
Wish I could warn potential replacement!!

As long as you'll be financially okay, do it. Good luck.

What an arsehole. Of course quit. You are better than me I wouldn't give notice

Thehop · 07/12/2019 10:30

Yeah if you can afford to them leave.

Go off sick over Christmas and have a rest with your family.

Am having a family meal out tonight. Will send email then.
I have other jobs in the pipeline but am available for him 5 days so a bit restricting. Note to others - the relief I won't see him for much longer is huge!!
Don't stay in a job if you can find another.
I won't again. Hadn't realised how chewed I had been feeling.

Hand in notice then go off on long term sick with stress. Then yous never gave to go back. If he's advertised your job without sacking you then you may be able to go for constructive dismissal.

If you have been there 2 full years you are entitled to redundancy so if you are sure he wants you gone then I would hold out for the couple of weeks extra payment
