We live on a farm. We have lived here 3 years. My dh goes hunting. We have the sweetest kindest labrador WHO loves hunting. She is 10 years. We have 2 kids. 16 and 11.
I Think we should have a puppy this summer. Dh Think not .
He has a lot of work at farm this summer.
All of US has 7 week holiday. Perfect for puppy. He say no. All of US say yes. The work this summer fail on dh. I do all Family work.
WHO is being unfair ?

When you say you live on a farm, are there lots of er, animals on this farm? And are you around during the day to look after the puppy?

But we are 3 people and we have a long holiday. Why is his "work above all" more important than kids holiday?
We made Them Living in the middle of bloody nowhere - what Will they do, While he work and work and work?
Why not a puppy?? I don't get it. 7 week holiday and I am working from home...

I don't see how you all have 7 weeks off if you live on a farm, surely one of you needs to be working to maintain the farm?

As for the dog, it doesn't matter that your children want one, the decision is between you and your husband.

Yea we have chicken, cows and cats and a dog. And a puppy would be so nice for kids. We have holiday in winter, so 7 weeks holiday at home. Puppy would be perfect. But he has. Headache and went to bed. And I can get a puppy if I want.. great..

You don’t force a dog into a family where it isn’t wanted by everyone. That’s just selfish. I have two dogs and they were unanimous decisions.

Having a puppy is a whole family decision.
