Feckin technology. I am having one of those weeks including losing most of my bank cards.
I need to pay our plumber today.i have the Santander app on my phone for online banking. I get to the authorise stage and it tells me it is sending me a text with a code in it. All fine. Except when I swap to texts to get the code it then requires me to go back to the transaction but takes me back to the previous stage ( authorise and we will send you a code). Of course the code I have just collected will not work cos I have to ask for another. I am trapped in this circle.
Can anybody help before I lose it completely.

Does the code not flash at the top when still in the app.

AJPTaylor · 06/12/2019 09:54

No! It's not big enough to read it. It flashes up but the only readable bit is "one time code" or similar

Can you log onto your internet banking from a laptop?

BaloneyInMySlacks · 06/12/2019 10:18

Swap to your texts using the left hand button at the bottom instead of whatever it is you're doing now.

BaloneyInMySlacks · 06/12/2019 10:19

And then get back to your banking app the same way.

Can you pull down the notification bar to read the full text. Try changing that in settings first so you don't have to actually leave the bank page.

GottaLoveAnOtter · 06/12/2019 11:08

Also try changing your display screen zoom setting so everything is smaller and then you may see more of the text notification?

dementedma · 06/12/2019 11:11

I have had exactly this problem! I discovered last night there is a wee drop down triangle at the bottom right of the text containing the code so if you click on this it opens the whole text and you can see the code without leaving the banking site.

You see, this is the type of tech advice that I need! Thank you all so much!

I can't quite visualise what you're doing. Are you saying that merely switching another app into the foreground (while touching nothing within the Santander app) then switching back to Santander causes it to lose its place (take you back to an earlier stage.)

WalkAwaySugarbear · 06/12/2019 11:32

Yep, as others have said. Drop down the text box to view the whole text in preview whilst the app is open.
