Of course a platform which has quickly replaced much of the conventional media has changed massively in 10 years (which in tech terms is a lifetime).

It's a lot more corporate now. Big businesses, TV programs and celebrities having their own channels. Back in 2009 the main creators were everyday people.

This is where Google is your friend. Search for evolution of google and you’ll find masses of information.

Coincidently Google bought YouTube in 2006.

There was less advertising in 2009 and you could skip it more easily. Bastarding grammerly wasn’t interrupting everything every 10 seconds trying to help me to write like an American.

It has become a lot more mainstream and commercial. Go search for "chocolate rain" if you haven't seen it, it was one of the early viral videos
