To hate putting the Xmas tree up

Urgh it's sat in the corner all wrapped up and waiting to be decorated. I hate decorating the tree I hate it. I can never spread the lights and decorations out properly I just find it such an effort! I love it once it's up but someone tell me I'm not the only one who feels like this!

I'm with you!! I've been putting off getting everything down from the loft as I just cba with the decorating.. not sure I can put it off much longer though, pesky kids keep nagging me!

Squigean · 04/12/2019 18:03

Me too.

I had to "trim the tree" as a child because I did "a marvellous job". The pressure I felt to do a marvellous job, and stress of not getting it right was high.

Even though my family now couldn't care I still carry these concerns as an adult!!!

SerenDippitty · 04/12/2019 18:05

Not just you. I don’t hate doing it but I’m never 100% satisfied with it.

ProperVexed · 04/12/2019 18:07

I hate putting it up, but I hate taking it down even more. Humbug!

Picklypickles · 04/12/2019 18:08

I don't like doing it either, I used to before I had kids but now I make dp and the kids do it every year. I'd probably still enjoy doing it if I didn't have everything else to do too!

I don't mind putting the deccys on but the lights are the bane of my bloody life!

I spend hours trying to hide the wires and I can still see them even though I have green cable.

Then you switch em on and they are all uneven and not spaced out properly. It's one of the many times I hate being an adult and wish my Mum was here to do it!

Every year mine looks like this.

you need to put it away decorated. Wrap it in clingfilm from the top down.

If anyone is in East Yorkshire I’ll happily come do it for you!
