Ds is 18 months and has started taking his gro bag off at night and we're worried he's going to end up too cold and unsure if we should change to a duvet and bed set. Can I just add he is a tosser and turner lol think bed time gymnastics 😂 😂

Probably unhelpful because of the age difference but my eight year old mostly only wears pants and her fleecy dressing gown. She has managed y different and some fleecy pyjamas but it's not to be the dressing gown. No idea why.

Mine had grobags, then onesies or a babyvest under a two piece pyjama set.

My little one 21 months , he sleeps in a sleeping bag romper it's got arms and legs so he can wiggle we got the ones from jojomamanbebe

PickAChew · 01/12/2019 23:55

13 and 16 and sleep in joggers and t-shirts!

cochineal7 · 01/12/2019 23:57

We used sleeping bags until they were no longer in a cot and needed/wanted to be able to walk out of the bed. Since then (washable wool) duvet. Will put it back on them when it is inevitably off at the end of the evening, but figure they will wake up and pull it over themselves if they get cold. Never heard of a child freezing themselves. They seem to be pretty warm. When younger I did give them long-sleeved sleep suits with feet attached as night clothes. Now they wear pjs or nightgown.

Thanks for the replies, I'm liking the idea of a sleeping bag romper. He honestly gets himself in some random positions lol me and dh are surprised he sleeps cause it doesn't look comfy at all 😂

@123feraverto that’s what i used for my daughter. I attached poppers to the booties so they wouldn’t wriggle off and she liked to roll around her cot. They were a godsend, called Sleep Snugglers. Expensive from Jojo, but you can pick up second hand.

Lunafortheloveogod · 01/12/2019 23:58

A sleep snuggler thing from jojo.. it’s like a grobag onesie.

So he’s padded up n toasty but in theory if he wants to figure out a midnight jog he can, he’s 8months so he won’t but he likes sleeping legs splayed to the sides and the grobag wasn’t wide enough/twisted when he rolled.

Gossipjunkie22 · 01/12/2019 23:59

Defo going to look into the grobag onesies, he can still wander up and down the cot in them and no chance getting it off (hopefully)

I swapped to a crib duvet and pillow from
Ikea at that age, she wears normal pyjamas- long sleeved and bottoms in winter and short in summer. They won’t freeze and will learn to pull it up if they’re cold.

Sashkin · 02/12/2019 00:07

We force DS into his sleeping bag because he kicks covers off. He can climb over his bed rail and walk around the bedroom in it though, so beyond not liking putting it on, it’s no hardship for him. It doesn’t stop him sleeping upside down and at weird angles with unfortunately Hmm

Gossipjunkie22 · 02/12/2019 00:07

Think we are going to have to do the same tbh, I just worry he's going to be cold but his room is always kept between 18/20 degrees

OP posts:
Gossipjunkie22 · 02/12/2019 00:09

@Sashkin he isn't walking unaided, so we aren't at that stage... Yet 😂 dreading the day he's up and climbing out the cot and jumping all over me and Dh lol

Ikea duvet ended up on floor. He likes it, just doesn’t work. He seems to stay still under a double duvet in our bed, but rolls around like a mad thing in the toddler bed for some reason.

Lunafortheloveogod · 02/12/2019 00:09

Ours has two zips that go into the knees (like concealed sections at the knee) if you think he’d keep it on?

Not sure if you could put it on backward too.

Gossipjunkie22 · 02/12/2019 00:11

Aw yeah we sometimes lay him in our bed during the day for a nap and he lies totally still too haha

My younger one is in a grow bag but my oldest ones either sleep in their undies or shorts and t shirt
