NCd for this.

I honestly don't know. I am going between "smart fucker" and anger.

I refused Hermes delivery as the company send order out days after cancelling it. Was nice and very apologetic to him. He must be tired this time of the year.

That smart fucker driver went to neighbours with their package and made them sign for mine too claiming he couldn't get an answer in mine.

What the actual fuck.

Now I have to call the company and get the return sticker or something 🙄

I’m with you op! A mixture of aghast and impressed at the drivers savvy 😂

OMGHermes · 01/12/2019 23:34

Why? How does it even come into someone's mind?
"Oh yeah, this needs to go back to the company. Oh! Let's give it to the neighbour!"
😂🤦

You've cancelled the order, not paid for it. What's your responsibility to return it to the company now?

OMGHermes · 01/12/2019 23:39

I still haven't got my money back. I quite want them.Grin

I am just gobsmacked and am considering the camera bell now, because I don't think the companies will believe shit like this.

I’m guessing it’s hassle for them to return it or do they get charged? I don’t know? Whatever the reason, it’s so cheeky and brazen you just have to laugh at the effort surely 😂

HairyDogsOfThigh · 01/12/2019 23:55

Do they get paid per delivery, i wonder? Or maybe it's just hassle for him to do the return himself. Like you, i would be secretly impressed by his cunning.

OMGHermes · 02/12/2019 07:21

I wonder too about the payments. This is just so impressive cfness.
It will be fun today. Seriously wonder if the company and hermes will believe me😂

They do get paid per delivery and don't want the parcel taking up space in their van.

He should have actioned the refusal immediately so it's a bit naughty but also quite funny to be fair

OMGHermes · 02/12/2019 07:43

I get it must be annoying for them.

Btw this was a SECOND time I had to refuse that particular delivery. They brought it on Friday and I refused it as per instructions. Online tracking said it's going back to the company... Obviously not😂

Oh Hermes. Soon you will beat DXDelivery... I ended up having to do police report because of them🙄

I'v been waiting for them to deliver since Wednesday, I contacted the company I bought from and apparently it's now going to be delivered by a different courier. Perhaps something similar with you. Hermes obviously haven't communicated any of this with me mind you.

Helenluvsrob · 08/12/2019 20:12

Yep Hermes “ no one home 1500 we will deliver another day “.

The delivery address is an 7-8 opening medical centre. I’d love to know where the team were - maybe in an away day, with all the patients ?

AlunWynsKnee · 08/12/2019 20:28

We had one who tried to deliver a heavy parcel to people who moved out 5 years ago (but hadn't changed their address) so I refused it. He wasn't happy so he came back after dark and left it on the doorstep.
There wasn't even a company name on the parcel Confused

Fifififififi1 · 09/12/2019 21:35

Most Hermes couriers are self employed. They are paid per delivery/parcel, but they are ONLY paid when an item is delivered or a scheduled collection is completed. They get nothing towards daily costs and most use their own vehicles or lease a vehicle from Hermes.
They have to try delivering a given parcel on 3 seperate days before sending back to source.
It's in their interest to make sure a parcel is delivered otherwise they lose out, financially and lose time on their schedules (they use more petrol the next day delivering the same parcel twice sometimes thrice!), and any parcels they couldn't deliver the previous day is added to their schedule the next day, which at Christmas must be a massive headache.
Naturally, like any company there are "smartarses" in the midst of others who do their best to do a job properly. But it's the smartarses that customers tend to remember.

Most of the courier companies are exploiting their staff and self employed workers. The truth has been outed more than once about them but I guess internet shopping is so widely used and relied upon that these companies have become essential and no one wants to listen.
