It will fall over. Go and buy another stand?

calmpuppycrazykids · 01/12/2019 16:06

CherryBathBomb · 01/12/2019 16:22

If you have a real fire , kindling or small logs are your friends

GoKartMozart · 01/12/2019 16:57

I have a tree I use outdoors. I put it in a pot with a bag of pea gravel and it stays put.

beestripey · 01/12/2019 17:04

Yep firewood logs placed in a bucket, packed out with kindling works a treat. Stick a vase of water in the middle for a real tree.

SoupDragon · 01/12/2019 17:06

To prevent toppling, you need a wider base than a pot will offer I think.

Snugglepumpkin · 01/12/2019 17:14

I kept my old 7ft tree for a couple of years after I lost the stand by setting the base in quick set cement.
It took a couple of small bags.
I just got a wicker basket & lined it with plastic then poured in the cement.

PumpkinPiloter · 01/12/2019 19:08

Nothing says Christmas like a bag of cement.

It's the 1st of December - how can it be an emergency?
Okay, I know some people like to start early but Christmas before St Nicholas is just rude.
He'll put you in his sack and take you to back to his castle in Spain. That's what happens to naughty children!

BaronessBomburst · 01/12/2019 19:12

Have you tried the shed?

CherryBathBomb · 01/12/2019 19:23

If it was just me I wouldn't bother lol!

I promised the children we would put the tree up on the 1st as they've had a shit year, dad walked out on us all and hasn't bothered since Hmm

The tree is sorted now! A green sparkly plant pot with heavy stones in.

Thanks guys!

I know you have sorted this now but I always put my artificial tree in a pot.

My husband fashioned a breeze block to fit in a pot, drilled a hole through it the same gauge as the tree "trunk" then we filled it with sand.

Looks great!

Every year we take the tree out, put a cork in the hole to stop the sand filling it up and put it back in the garage - really lightweight and breezblock easy to cut and cheap.

CherryBathBomb · 01/12/2019 19:50

@alittlequinnie that's great!
I bet it makes the tree look taller too Smile
