Christmas tree emergency-please help!

So, have just got the tree out of the attic and we cannot find the stand anywhere! WIBU to try and prop the tree up in a pot ?? Any ideas greatly appreciated

It will fall over. Go and buy another stand?

This was me a few days ago
we have got a big pot filled it with stones and propped up the tree and are hoping for the best

If you have a real fire , kindling or small logs are your friends

I have a tree I use outdoors. I put it in a pot with a bag of pea gravel and it stays put.

Yep firewood logs placed in a bucket, packed out with kindling works a treat. Stick a vase of water in the middle for a real tree.

To prevent toppling, you need a wider base than a pot will offer I think.

I kept my old 7ft tree for a couple of years after I lost the stand by setting the base in quick set cement.
It took a couple of small bags.
I just got a wicker basket & lined it with plastic then poured in the cement.

Nothing says Christmas like a bag of cement.

Okay, I know some people like to start early but Christmas before St Nicholas is just rude.
He'll put you in his sack and take you to back to his castle in Spain. That's what happens to naughty children!

I promised the children we would put the tree up on the 1st as they've had a shit year, dad walked out on us all and hasn't bothered since

The tree is sorted now! A green sparkly plant pot with heavy stones in.

I know you have sorted this now but I always put my artificial tree in a pot.

My husband fashioned a breeze block to fit in a pot, drilled a hole through it the same gauge as the tree "trunk" then we filled it with sand.

Looks great!

Every year we take the tree out, put a cork in the hole to stop the sand filling it up and put it back in the garage - really lightweight and breezblock easy to cut and cheap.
