Emergency leave and school exclusion

Am I right in thinking that knowing of my son's internal exclusion and suspension from wrap round care at 2pm on a Friday would count as an emergency leave for Monday afternoon school pick up? There are no schooI mums that I feel comfortable to ask that I know do 3pm pick up and my husband won't discuss the issue with his parents who might be able to help. This is the last in a long line of internal and external exclusions while we wait for CAMHS, ASD and dyslexia assessments. I've already had 4 half days in the last few weeks to cover appointments which I have made time up on but dreading telling work tomorrow.

You don’t have to go into details. Just say it’s due to child care.

Your husband sounds a bit in denial here OP. Can he not take time off if he's stopping his parents knowing about the issue? Because it sounds like your husband is leaving you between a rock and a hard place.

I'd say it was the DC's father's turn to ask work for time off, personally. And telling him that your work said No if he reckons it's not his problem.

I wouldn’t class that as an emergency
If it was Friday you needed to take off then yes it would be an emergency
But not with 3 days notice
That’s plenty of time to sort out alternative arrangements

Dc fathers turn to take time off work or try and find a childminder

No, I think given you had three days notice, it's not an emergency.
