I watch what I eat and exercise but the second I don’t, go on holiday, it’s someone's birthday so celebrations or whatever my weight can rocket within days, should I just f*ck it and not bother ever or accept i can either stay strict all the time or accept a few times a year I’m going to get podgy???

If you don't watch it the rest of the time won't you end up overweight, the obese Sad

Onesnowballshort · 30/11/2019 21:27

You have a birthday night out and are podgy the next day?

ivykaty44 · 30/11/2019 21:42

It’s your health, we only get one body & need to look after it so it’s comfortable to live in.

Janaih · 30/11/2019 21:46

I've gone down the fuck it road. Mostly happy being fat.

Stompythedinosaur · 30/11/2019 21:49

Honestly, I wouldn't aim to be fat, but I think a life where you cannot ever indulge sounds joyless. We aren't defined by our looks and being podgy is not the end of the world.

PurpleDaisies · 30/11/2019 21:51

You won’t be fat if you’re sensible most of the time. Birthdays, special occasions and holidays, all bets are off.

AtrociousCircumstance · 30/11/2019 21:52

Keep doing what you’re doing. Eating healthily and letting yourself have treat days now and again.

moltonbrownsoap · 30/11/2019 21:53

Could you eat less the next day/week? I never had weight issues before but as you describe one holiday and I am much bigger almost immediately after.
I've put on three stone in the last two years. Now if I over indulge I try to fast the next day. It's working in at least I'm not longer putting on weight. Not for everyone I know though and should probably take up exercise...

Grimbles · 30/11/2019 21:57

Yes, you will temporarily gain weight if you consume more calories than you normally do!?!

It's the same for everyone - as long as you approach it in the knowledge that you will need to have a few days eating less then have the cake and enjoy it.

Elieza · 30/11/2019 22:07

They say that if you just over or under eat for one day it makes no odds.
Apparently you need to be doing the new eating habit for three days for it to show.
So stuff your face on a birthday and get down the gym the following day and you’ll be fine.

I put on weight when I go on holiday, Xmas, birthday etc
Cut back afterwards and usually lose it again within following month
