AIBU to enjoy cold toast

On my tea break at work. I opened my Tupperware which contains two buttered slices of toast that I made about three hours ago. My colleague tells me it’s disgusting and offensive to toast lovers everywhere (lighthearted) and that toast should only be eaten hot. I think it’s absolutely delicious. Cheap white bread well toasted with the butter soaked into it. I’ve loved this since I was small. Who is BU?

YANBU. I don’t like hot soggy toast, I like it cold and crisp.

valentinoandme · 30/11/2019 10:11

Nope. I've even been known to put my toast in the fridge to cool it faster! I don't put the butter on until it's cooled though. Enjoy!

mrsbyers · 30/11/2019 10:14

Yes but only as you’ve buttered it at the wrong time - leave it to go cold then butter

OhioOhioOhio · 30/11/2019 10:14

Yes. What mrsbyers said.

MrsJoshNavidi · 30/11/2019 10:28

I like cold toast. But butter it after it's gone cold, so the butter doesn't sink in. I like butter too Blush

Lockheart · 30/11/2019 10:29

Like whatever you like, unreasonable doesn't come into it. You don't need validation from MN to enjoy something!

amusedbush · 30/11/2019 10:30

I like to leave my toast to go cold and then butter it 😍

blindmansbluff · 30/11/2019 10:30

My DH loves cold toast but he lets it go cold first then adds the butter. It's not for me but you like what you like!

Orangesox · 30/11/2019 10:30

Cold toast, only buttered once cold with pretty much any topping is far superior to hot buttered toast in my opinion. My husband thinks I’m barking mad though Grin

HouseworkAvoider10 · 30/11/2019 10:32

I like it hot or cold or soft or crispy.
I love toast.

YouFellAsleeep · 30/11/2019 10:46

I love cold toast. I only butter it once cold. I discovered I liked toast this way when I was in hospital having my son as the toast was always cold by the time I got it!

thecalmorchid · 30/11/2019 10:47

I like mine cooled but not stone cold, spread thickly with salted butter.

Divine.

MaidofKent78 · 30/11/2019 10:47

Same as the rest. Let it go cold THEN add butter. Unless you're also having Marmite. Then it has to be warm.

WhenDoesTheWashingEnd · 30/11/2019 10:50

I didn't think I'd be the first to say it but you are being tremendously unreasonable.

Not only is cold toast an affront to civilised society but you even went so far as to butter hot and let the delicious buttery goodness soak into the bread BEOFRE you let it go cold and therefore rendered inedible.

My outrage was thus that I even forgot to put commas in the sentence above! Grin

LemonTT · 30/11/2019 10:51

Cold and crisp, then the butter.

bruffin · 30/11/2019 10:57

Just had a cold toasted bagel with butter and speculoos, it was heavenlyGrin

1300cakes · 30/11/2019 11:00

Love cold toast, but disagree with pps - definitely should be buttered while hot.

PavlovsDeafDog · 30/11/2019 11:04

YANBU.
I lurves toast! Hot, warm or cold.
Buttered toast, as well as dry toast.

Oneborneverydecade · 30/11/2019 11:06

Bloody hell I'm going to have to get out of bed and look for some bread to make toast now

weegiemum · 30/11/2019 11:08

Dairylea on cold, crispy toast is the amgel's food. I make it most days though I tell dh the dairylea is for the dc

HavelockVetinari · 30/11/2019 11:09

Whaaat? YABVU! FFS. Toast should be eaten hot, with melty butter. Letting it go cold deliberately marks the eater as an uncivilized heathen. Our society has no place for such an affront to the dignity and sanctity of toast. Angry
