To call in sick today?

Or at least work from home?

I work 3 days a week although I feel like I’m barely there at the moment as DD (9 months) keeps getting sick. I returned from maternity leave in October.

I do have loads to do today but I feel so unwell and full of cold. I’m pregnant (although work don’t know it yet) so I can’t really take anything for it.

I asked to work from home last week as I didn’t feel well but now I feel a million time’s worse!

I just want to do the essential stuff then go back to bed. I’ve got such a headache and had a crap night sleep. My nose was dripping everywhere and I was all gross and sniffling yesterday at work which was embarrassing.

What should I do?

Stay at home! You don’t sound at all well - hope you feel better soon.

If you're sick, you're sick 🤷‍♂️ . Might be with telling someone at wroth you're pregnant so then any pregnancy related ill health will not count against you negatively. You don't need to announce it, just tell your boss. If something did unfortunately go wrong at this early stage, you'd need time off and to discuss with them anyway so might be worth giving them the heads up now... Then you've got a bit of leeway with sickness triggers too while you're struggling

Thanks.

I just feel guilty as I’m part time and only just came back.

That being said my pelvic floor is really not with it today with all the coughing and sneezing Blush

Stay at home. They saw you ill yesterday and noone wants to get that cold! The only thing I would ask is - are you too ill to work? Because if a good days sleep will sort you out, don’t ask to work from home - take a sick day instead and log off entirely.

I do think I probably am too unwell to work but I’ve got to get some important stuff out and I’m the only one who does it

Are they the type of office to send you home if you are ill? If so, I would try to go in and get the urgent things done before heading back home to bed afterwards. If you've had a sick day last week then it would be good to show you have made the effort to go in despite being poorly today.
