Asda Ready Meals - Use of Plastic / Less reusable?

It is very rare I buy one, so would not normally give a hoot.

However, this week, our entire street has had the mains gas pipes replaced (happens every 70 years apparently), so knowing the gas was going to be cut off 2 days in the week from 7am to 8pm I got in some micro meals. I've bought them on occasion before - and they always came in a plastic tub with a lid - which was great for me, as I'd use them to freeze my own meals in.

Now they come in a tub with just a film lid, claiming less use of plastic, so whilst you can re-use the tub, you're going to have to cover it with something, or wrap it in clingfilm or the like.

Whilst I appreciate there is less plastic, they have now made their packaging pretty much reusable. AIBU in thinking this is a pointless exercise in being 'green'.

I've been up all night and I'm shattered so, it's a more of getting that thought out there rather than I give a shit on opinions Grin
