My dd (2) had a tummy bug for 2 days. Nothing to bad. Tonight ire I've been up throwing up cannot keep water down. I have an 11 day old baby.
How can I keep her from getting sick

Scrupulous hygiene - when my youngest was months old we all had horrendous Norovirus but she escaped it. I believe it was down to the other children not going near her and breastfeeding, plus lots of handwashing and disinfecting areas

Should also add baby Is bottle fed

Crap I just saw bottle fed sorry didn’t mean to be so unhelpful! (assuming it’s not expressed milk.)

GrumpyHoonMain · 27/11/2019 01:56

Wash hands (scrape under fingernails and wash webbing too) and use purcell every time you make a bottle / nappy change / give her a bath. Don’t let your elder DD touch her. If the baby was a premie I would also wear plastic gloves around her for a while.

Ineedcoffee2345 · 27/11/2019 03:30

I've done Al the usual bedding changed disinfected everything. Washing hands constantly and babh spends most of day In Moses basket (great sleeper and feeder). Toddler hasn't been near her. She doesn't pay baby much attention.
I'm just worried baby will catch it from me Confused
Feeling sick weak nd exhausted this is the last thing I needed 11 days post Birth

Just saw you don't bf OP apologies.
However, even if you just put baby on your beast for a short while it would build up the antibodies and then you could express and give to baby?

Ineedcoffee2345 · 27/11/2019 07:52

Got a few hours sleep. I'm unable to express or bf unfortunately. I may just hope and pray keeping everything clean and disinfected will protected her.

How are you all now? Flowers

MrsMonkeyBear · 27/11/2019 18:23

If bottle fed, please use Milton to sterilize the bottles as steam/microwave sterilising doesn't always kill the bugs.

A nurse explained this to me when DD2 was in hospital and I was having to Express and bottle feed
